stressederic Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Villa are winning 2-0 against West Brom. Goals from Curtis Davis and the 2nd from Agbonlahor after a shocker from Carson.
Sion Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Who was telling me Villa aren't lucky? somehow winning 2-0 despite being the worse side
Sion Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Fulham v Blackburn PostponedShocking that 2 PL games can be called off this day and age
Damian_de Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 To be (probably too) fair it was a shocker from the whole defence, there were 4 or 5 of them vaguely marking the penalty spot and just watched Agbonlahor waltz into the area, but it wasn't happy viewing for Carson Villa are a curious team, they set up to defend and counter even aginst the bottom of the league team even when they're at home. Fair play to them for their league position and form, and it's them that has made the chances today, WBA look clueless once they approach the penalty box. But I wonder if there's anything to this Villa side but a well drilled defence, physical all over the pitch and 2 fast attackers. Can't say I've seen it this season.
Bo Benn Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Thought all top flight grounds these days had heated pitches. I must be delusional it seems.
stressederic Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Thought all top flight grounds these days had heated pitches. I must be delusional it seems. Fratton Park doesn't and the south coast is damn near frozen solid today. I'm not surprised that one got called off.
Rimbeux Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Why the f*** is it not a rule that PL clubs have under soil heating. It's not as if there is a lack of money in the game, and the punters wont get a refund for money and time spent traveling.

Can't say I've seen it this season. LOL. That's exactly WHY they are a good side - and exactly why they just beat West Brom.
Damian_de Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I agree they are a decent side and the formula is working so far, however, I wonder if they have anything but that to offer, and when the rest of the league wises up they'll need it.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 got the Arsenal game on, on some Portugugese channel on the web. My god - if you can get odds, go for 0-0. It's played at half speed. Bolton are sitting back & Arsenal meandering forward. It's not like when the Mancs used to go slow-slow-fast & use the change of pace. This is slow-slow-slow-slow
Zoob Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Who was telling me Villa aren't lucky? somehow winning 2-0 despite being the worse side In each of Villa's last 4 league games the other team have done them the favour of scoring an own goal for them (the Carson blunder is being reported as an own goal). In 2 of these games, the og was the (final) winning goal, and in today's game it was the difference between the teams. And before the Bolton game (where the og was not decisive) that was when they scored the last second winner vs Everton (although by all acounts they did deserve to win after leading most of the game). But they have been incredibly lucky recently.
Redwire Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Fellaini booked. Misses both the derby games now.
Redwire Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 both? 10 yellows? Yes. 10 yellows in 18 games.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Bolton just had their 1st shot on goal. 6-1 to Arsenal in goal attempts get on 0-0
smithdown Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) Fellaini booked. Misses both the derby games now. :ifithadntbeenfer: Yes. 10 yellows in 18 games. Joking aside, he is a really sh*t tackler. Edited January 10, 2009 by smithdown
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Bolton surviving by the skin of their teeth now
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Newcastle losing Good save by Bolton's keeper now
stressederic Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 1-0 Arsenal And, in true Arsenal style, nearly concede an immediate equaliser
Sion Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 :ifithadntbeenfer:Joking aside, he is a really sh*t tackler.Apprently he's victimised, because he's tall. Still, he's their first choice CM, so any first choice player they have missing is good news.
