Team for Liege

I see there is a team for Sunderland thread but not one for Liege. It is our next match isn't it. Without the captain and half the team at the Olympics who do we play. Surely Xabi has to start.

I've gone for what I think will be Rafa's formation this season. Benayoun to play the Gerrard role and N'Gog is quick and skilful so can do the Babel role.

 

Any thoughts ? -- we won't get away with 12 players is my first thought !!!!! Amended

The Fantasy Rafa people seem to be ignoring the Liege game as well for some reason.

I reckon that's a preliminary squad they stuck in rather than the official one. Dossena has played every match recently and Babel isn't available, so why would we register him. The group stages have different deadline.

I have no idea. I haven't seen a minute of pre-season.

 

Let me give you a quick update then.

 

Voronin doesnt score penalties but scores last min winners with 18 yard volleys after being booed by the fans.

 

Alonso wants to go because he doesnt celebrate after goals.

 

Ngog is now known as Ntog.

 

Dossena does goal line clearances like no other player.

 

Degan must be comfortable in Kewell's grove on the treatment table.

Originally, I had Plessis and Alonso in the centre but when I posted it I noticed I had 12 men. I therefore removed Plessis. The rest of this thread is me bulls***ting to hide my mistake

 

I think Knox team is the best option with the players we've got. If Gerrard is not fit I'd bring in Plessis.
