I think Rafael has to be bold enough to bring the ressie through the ranks. So far he only brought Plessie, and that's not good enough for amount of talent youngsters we have. He should have brought more ressie through the ranks by now.

We should start to reap the benifits of youth system Rafael set up to bring all the talents worldwide across. The rate Rafael giving the chance to young players are still too slow. I cant wait to see a Nemeth and others debuts.

Used to watch the reserves at Anfield/The Academy - but Warrington is a bit of a pain in the a*** to get to (As is Wrexham)

Although I know it's good for the pitch at Anfield and also good for the clubs where the game is played - a part of me would like them to take it back to Anfield - just seems better and for me much easier to get to

PACHECO PUTS REDS IN FINAL

Steve Hunter 14 April 2008

Liverpool Reserves are through to the final of the Liverpool Senior Cup after a 1-0 win over Prescot Cables thanks to an extra-time winner from Spanish ace Daniel Pacheco.

Gary Ablett's side made it tough for themselves against resilient opponents but Pacheco's goal sets up a final with Marine at College Road next Thursday night (April 24).

The match was delayed at the start due to a healthy crowd of 1,387 packing into Valerie Park to catch a glimpse of Ablett's champions.

The Reds fielded a strong team against the Unibond outfit including Damien Plessis in midfield.

Liverpool team: Martin, Kelly, Insua, San Jose, Ayala (Darby 100), Plessis, Flynn (Pacheco 45), Spearing, Brouwer, Lindfield, Bruna (Huth 45).

The pitch at Warrington is a bit s*** though. The rugby games really cut it up.

The pitch was sh*t before any rugby was played on it. Too much rain over winter combined with bad drainage. They are doing work on the pitch at the moment to improve the drainage which is why the last two ressies' home games have been moved to Wrexham.

Leto, Insua, Lucas, Hobbs and El Zhar have all featured more than Plessis in the past year.

Mike's favourite goal machine Jordy Brouwer got his 4 in 3 games v Wigan tonight to wrap up the season at home for the reserves. Andras Simon and Jay Spearing with a 30 yard free kick got the others after they went behind in the first half.
