In all premier league games. A progressive step I think. Obviously still only three allowed to come on but hopefully it will allow some of the younger players get a taste of the first team.

They should allow 3 but if a player has been subbed he should be allowed to come back on.

And stop all injury-time substitutions & allow the correct time to be added on for those in normal time.

At f***en last. It will only further encourage concentration of players at bigger clubs though as it will make it easier to handle a larger squad, with at least the illusion more are involved with always say two defenders, two midfield players and two strikers on the bench.

No excuse for not bringing Baros back on....

There's not been any specific mention in the annoucement of requiring any of the extra subs to be academy players. That's always been stated as key to any change in the past and if it isn't there, I'm not sure this is such a great idea.

It's one thing to try and create more opportunities to blood the kids, but if you don't make that a requirement, it just becmes a system that will give the big club further opportunities to exploit the gap that their larger squads give them over the smaller clubs.

they should have stipulated that two players had to be u21. at least if you are 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go, you can throw on a kid.

Spot on.

Don't see the point meself. If yer only allowed 3 subs in a game, there should only be 3 subs on the bench with maybe an exception of a standby keeper if the 1st choice has to go off cos of injury. If there is an argument that eventualities have to be considered due to positional tactics then this should force clubs to develop as many of it's players to be positionally interchangeable.

Did anyone see Moyes complaining about it on Sky?

Was saying it has good points, but there's also the extra cost for the club.

More kits to wash, more hotel rooms to book and (my favourite) maybe even bigger coaches to fit the players in!

No small club attitude at Goodison - oh no!

Surely it's optional to use the two extra slots? Not that it makes him less of an 4rse though :)

Odd, would have thought he'd be on about appearance money. Nobody is forcing him to pick 7 subs

Jack of all trades, masters of none?

That'll go down well here.
