Should we have gone for Woodgate?

Spurs are talking with Middlesbro on buying Woodgate for around seven million. That is only a fraction more than what we paid for Skyrtl. For that price, should we have gone in for Woodgate ourselves? Okay, I know he has been injured this season but a good player nonetheless.

He's been injured for his whole career, has he ever completed a season. Spurs must have him on a job share with King or something. Insane. Boro must be made up

Not just this season but every season

And have you wondered why Boro bit their hands off?

You may have to wonder afresh if he joins Spurs and isn't injured thereafter.....

Could have been a great defender but you could never build a defence around him now. The textbook sicknote.

Rather Gary Ablett came out of retirement.

didn't we inquire about him around the time he left newcastle for madrid but the $$$$ where to much ?

decent defender but seems to be made of glass.

In these trying times, posts like these remind me of that bit in the seminal 'Spinal Tap' movie when bassist Derek Smalls suggests that the band might reprise their ill-fated rendition of a song called 'Stone 'enge'. At this juncture the blonde one says, somewhat exasperated, 'No ! we're not doin' Stone f*ckin 'enge'.

It's a metaphor for the annoying-ness of the utterly pointless interjection, the kind of which, in the wider scheme of things, this thread so aptly represents.

In plainer terms : who gives a big f*cking sh*t.

I thank you.

To be fair, his injury record has improved since he moved to Boro. However, he's been getting cramps in his calf muscles towards the end of games, which has been problematic for him.

On his day, he is an excellent defender. If he had Riise's injury record, then I'd be leading the campaign to sign him, but I could just see us spending £7.5M on him - only for him to break down in his first training session never to set foot on the pitch again.

Regardless of how long he goes without injury, you're just waiting for the next three month layoff to come about.

Great player, awful injury record. On a free, you could maybe justify the risk - but certainly not for £7M.

He's as injury prone as he is stupid. And he's really very, very stupid.

After a year in Spain his Spanish was light years ahead of Beckham's after three years here.

Spurs fan in the office just said "after all these years we've finally signed a true replacement for Darren Anderton".
