I prefer commentators to highlight all the good stuff and just comment on the game, rather than pretending they are experts, but that was, and Motson is, cringeworthy. You'd think we were watching an exhibition game with the Harlem Globetrotters, as aposed to the League leaders struggling for 80 odd minutes to score against a very medicocre football team.

Motson was ridiculous there, even by his own standards. Arsenal strung a few passes together and he'd be going on like Maradona, Cruyff and Jesus of Nazareth had invented a new kind of football.

 

They did this last year Arsenal, built a mythology and realised later in the season that they hadn't the strength or stamina to see it through to the end. They aren't as good as they think they are.

Have I mentioned how much I hate Motson. I couldn't work out if he was being bitter, obsessive or wistful about Walcott being 'the only Englishman in the Arsenal side missing five midfielders' and then constantly referring to him as The Englishman. Then that salivating over Arsenal's every pass. He's a f***ing moron
