met some croat fans in a bar last night - very nice fellahs they were. mentioned big igor and they said that he has retired and has taken up tennis! they echoed what many of us have said - that physically he had all the attributes to be a big player but he wasn't all right in the head. they were laughing that he thinks he's now going to win wimbledon!

dunno if this is true...think he was out of contract last summer....

According to Wikipedia (I know...) he's currently training with PSG, albeit on a non-contract basis.

with regards to Diao

"[edit] Disappearance

At the end of the 06/07 football season, Diao went missing and has not been seen in the UK since. This was despite constant assurance that he would sign for Stoke City. Stoke Manager Tony Pulis has also stated on several occasions that he has had contact via text with Diao. This has led to the creation of a running joke among fans.

What is it with these Croat tennis/football players?

Didn't Goran Ivanesevic try to play football for Hadjuk too?

He did it, he played for 5 mins at the end of the game, I loved him, he was nuts.

I am croatian and a reds a supporter obviously.

Igor could have still had a place in the croatian national team if he didnt walk out on them some years back when he was at liverpool. Too much ego and was told to leave and never come back !

Probably lined up to replace Luka Modric who looks like going to arsenal or chelsea, great little player !
