i really do think its time that 3pm saturday kick offs for top flight games were scrapped, move them all to saturday evening and sundays. it will mean more people going to lowerleague fooie on saturdays if most of the games were moved to sundays

it's a nice theory but wouldn't there be objections from the two teams who play their champions league matches on the tuesday? i.e. they'd have less recovery time both coming and going?

Move the champions league games to Wednesday and Thursday and the UEFA cup games to Tuesday but there will still be a 3 day gap if teams playing on Tuesday get to play on Saturday evening. Correct if I'm wrong but don't Spanish teams now do this?

Top flight should have 1 televised game Friday night, 3 or 4 televised games Sunday and one televised game Monday night.

No top flight games on a Saturday unless there's a very, very good reason for it.

Give the lower leagues Saturdays. You want a "traditional" 3pm Saturday kick off? Go to a "traditional" club.

I nearly agree.

All CL games - Wednesday at 8.

My preference is for the Uefa Cup to be scrapped but if it must struggle on: All UEFA Cup games - Tuesday at 8.

All games bar TV ones to kick off at 3 on a Saturday. None to kick off before 3 and certainly not at 11 fecking 30. Telly games at 6 on a Saturday and 3 and/or 6 on a Sunday.

Only one night of live Champions League television for the advertisers? No chance.

As an armchair consumer I'm grand with the way things are at the moment. I think that the Wigan game was the first Liverpool match this season that wasn't broadcast live — due in no small part to this skewing of the schedules.

That was on one of the Setanta channels. I think the Spurs and Cardiff games are the only ones that haven't been available to an Irish audience so far this season.

Cardiff is the one I meant, actually. Remember listening to Spurs on the radio as well.

Well we will continue to schlepp up & down the country for ever sillier ko times

But as long as the Irish are happy then all is well

Suits me down to the ground.

I agree, move games away from 3pm on Saturday. move them to sat night, sunday, with friday and monday nights reserved for local derbies. the big issue with evening games, is the people who make the schedules think that liverpool southampton, or newcastle portsmouth on a monday night is a good idea. its not.

there will always be some games that move for UEFA, CL, cup games etc, but its the general theme that saturday 3pm be 'given' to the lower leagues.
