Have just read some piece in Swedens newspaper Aftonbladet where it says that Mourinho is waiting for an offer from Liverpool FC in the summer. The source is Sunday Express or something.

I guess this is just speculation as usual but how would you feel of him taking over? Personally I'm not sure, he has proved he is a winner but I don't think the football would be any more entertaining then the one played under Benitez.

Do you think that Mourinho would bring us the title?

JOSE CASTS A HUGE SHADOW OVER RAFA

Jose Mourinho

Sunday November 4,2007

By Harry Pratt

Jose Mourinho has been keeping a close eye on the pressure slowly building on Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

When he left Stamford Bridge in September, Mourinho insisted his next post would not be in England.

But that was before Benitez’s rotation policy cost Liverpool valuable ground in the Premier League, and left their Champions League hopes on the brink and the fans up in arms.

The Sunday Express has learned from sources in Portugal close to Mourinho that he has added the Anfield giants to his short list of possible clubs to manage next.

Our source confirmed: “There’s no question Liverpool is a club Jose would like to manage.”

Under his extremely generous severance terms with Chelsea, Mourinho cannot work in England until June.

But he believes that taking over from Benitez could be the most attractive option open to him because:

Liverpool have the financial power to compete with Europe’s elite.

The Kop are so fed up with the club’s title drought that they would welcome the Special One.

lIt would make Roman Abramovich even more jealous of Liverpool.

Only last week Mourinho emphasised his determination to hold out for one of Europe’s top jobs by rejecting Valencia, widely regarded as Spain’s third-largest club.

But unless Real Madrid or Barcelona come calling next summer, which is unlikely, his options will be limited to either of Italy’s Milan clubs – or Liverpool. News of Mourinho waiting in the wings is sure to rattle Kop boss Benitez, who has an intense dislike of the ex-Porto coach and is engulfed in a full-blown crisis on Merseyside.

Failure to beat Besiktas at home on Tuesday will end Liverpool’s Champions League interest – and further undermine the Spaniard’s standing at the club.

And unless he was to deliver the Premier League – a tough proposition with Arsenal and Manchester United both in great form – Benitez could well pay the price for blowing £50million last summer and leave the door open for Mourinho.

Liverpool have ALWAYS played like Brazil

People going to the match demanding to be entertained FFS, like it is a new DVD blockbuster release. Winning is entertaining and that is all you need to know really.

There's winning playing good football - Arsenal/United

Then there's winning playing bad football - Chelsea under Jose

Then there's the quality of football we're playing under Rafa.

I don't think anybody is arguing that our football is anything other than poor but the idea that we should get back to entertaining football like we played in the 70's and 80's is almost laughable. Revisionism of the highest order.

So why is it that Man Urinals and a*** can do it and not us? That's just silly. You can play effective yet attractive football.

Don't see how anyone can defend the type of football we're playing at the moment and calling criticism of it "revisionism".

If we were like Chelsea and winning in a funtional manner (it's a myth that they play "bad" football) then that's one thing.

But we're playing s***, not winning, and falling out of contention in the league and in Europe.

Cos they're f***ing turd in Europe.

Two semis under Maureen, one final under Wenger and last year a semi for Man ure and it's f***ing turd?

I agree. I wouldn't care if we played the most turdishly boring football ever as long as we were winning convincingly, but at the moment we are playing the most turdishly boring ever and look incredibly unconvincing

I would suggest you read my post again.

Do I have to?

Your point seems rather moot to me.

I suggest you make it again if we are winning and people are complaining about the style of play. May not agree with you but at least you'd have a point.

Winning is a necessity and comes first but entertaining football is a luxury and comes second. It's not difficult.

As I said, come back a and make that point when we're not scraping draws.

it's really f***ing stupid.

Ok. But his nickname wasn't the subject here was it? I wanted to hear what people thought about him taking over. Is he more likely to bring us a PL-title. I think so. But I don't think he ever will take over as it's just speculation.

It's a valid point whenever anyone says they want to see "entertaining football". It's bulls***. There's only aim and that's to win and that is where we are falling down.
