No insightful breakdown of the player, no pros and cons, no discussing his 'touch for a big man'

People suggested that fame might have got to him before the robot dance, and everything points in the direction of them being right.

I think he's been listening to the wrong people, people who read the tabloids and believe the s*** that gets written

As I posted elsewhere, he was handed a chance to prove Rafa shouldn't rotate him last night and he spunked it

You could twist that last sentence and say he actually proved it. ;)

Rafa's making our players play s*** to justify his rotation system. He's so stubborn!

problem is - and this has been repeated enough times - other than Reina, nobody came out of yesterday's game with any credit. All our players looked as if they were wearing boots made of lead, had just completed a marathon before KO, and the lack of ability to control and pass the ball - by all our players - was just astounding.

He's got a book out and a celebrity girlfriend.

He thinks he's made it.

Carra needs to give him a good shoeing.

yep. got carried away with being a cult figure and then a mainstream tabloid figure. carra, sami and pepe should all give him a shoeing.

don't agree.

more like I think he is a perfect example of a player who needs to play regularly to be in his best form. Worked at Southampton and here for a period. Was in and out at Villa and was s***e.

Then he has to leave, because he has no chance of forming a decent partnership with Torres unless the latter does all the dropping deep and pulling wide to make space for him, and plays for Crouch as the main man. It's either or, they dont play well together, so given the relative abilities there is only one choice. I dont think Crouch has the game or the current attitude to gel with Torres, total opposite of Kuyt.

In that case his time is up

He has forgotten where he came from: When everyone was on his back when he first joined us and he couldn't score, and how everyone questioned Rafa for signing him, who backed him to the hilt? Rafa.

Now the public accepts him and he's gotten a little richer, he starts throwing toys out of the pram and whinge about not starting and rotation. On the pitch he's not even working anywhere near as hard as he used to.

could well be right that.

To be honest, there are probably many players out there who given a run will be decent, but perhaps what marks out those who can stay the course at a big club is either being too good to leave out, or being able to deliver when called upon like Solskjaer or even some of their lesser squad men like O'Shea and Fletcher or our very own Arbeloa.

I'm not sure if Crouch is delusional about deserving a regular spot or lacks the confidence to deal with the situation and the reality of not starting most games, perhaps both.

I think it's both, I think he's gone and I think we need another forward with pace.

Bet you we will end up with Babel there and we'll be unstoppable. Happening upon a best position by accident is so old-school it gives me the title horn.

everyone hated him until he did the robot dance.

I still do. Wouldn't bother me if I never saw him in a red shirt ever again. He is one player guaranteed to wind me up.
