The attendance for Chelsea v Rosenborg.

What gets to me is when people say how many people were there instead of pointing out how many weren't, the 24,000 who went should be applauded, it's the 16,000 or however many that didn't go that should be ridiculed.

That's revolutionary. Now you just need to post their names, in order to pillory them. ;)

the guys on ESPN were saying how exciting it was today for the start of the CL. i have to disagree as it is now becoming a bit boring with the same teams playing each other season after season.

UEFA have to do something to make this competition a little more interesting as it will go downhill quick if it remains like this.

only 38,500 at the Milan game, 41,000 at our game and 30,000 at Shaktar. they had decent crowds in Marseille and Schalke.

the only sell out was Real Madrid by the looks of things.

It also boils down to price of admission.

The prices must come if stadiums are to be filled for each match.

and you to have some quality teams in the competition as well.

when you are missing teams like Bayern and Juventus, it's going to impact the attendances regardless of the price to get in.

do the clubs really care though? they will still make millions just by being in this part of the CL.

are we likely to sell out for all 3 games?

You will have a damn site more that 24,000, and your top blokie isnt telling everyone that will listen that you will be the biggest club in the world pretty soon.

You what, the mighty Juve who had to build a new ground inside the old one cos they could never fill it?

We'll let you off cos you've been unwell and it's obviously effected your brain... he'd not revolutionary, he just knows that his team suffer the same issues. ;)

john terry up front is a big pull.

I didn't watch the game, but I'm assuming from this that Mourinho used his 'other' tactic last night?

Held at home, by grade Z very very off eggs. Ha ha!

Juventus got 6,000 for a CL game a few seasons back.

its the pointlessness of the first group stage. the top 16 teams to go through are usually known before the games even start, with only 1 or 2 suprises. I say get rid of the 4 seed levels and have it a free for all. a group stage with barca, chelsea, milan and bayern would be interesting.

Aye, but then the knockouts would suffer - tis not the same as the FA Cup where if you a*** up on the day you're out...there's two legs remember - Rosenborg, over 2 legs, would not beat any of the top teams. And you'd have more of the likes of Rosenborg going through in that case, as there'll no doubt inevitably be a group with 4 weak teams.

I would still count the away goals in the group stages as double. Then teams will actually go away from home and try and win. If you win your home games you are pretty much guaranteed to go through.

i flicked over at the end of our match to see the last few mins of their game.... I knew Mourniho would have blagged at least 4 extra mins... sure enough they got booed off... Rosenborg nearly got a winner in the dying seconds too..

chelsea have never had a big following.

shiny c*** kenyon and his desires to 'annex' london are laughable.

Well exactly.

Traditionally Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham were always bigger in London then them and probably have bigger hardcore support.
