I saw Steve McManaman at the Ireland v. England rugby game. Was walking behind him in the rush and all he wanted to do was get to a bar and have a pint. I didn't say anything to him. A load of people walking by said hello and he was cool to them all. Taller than I thought.

Sorry.. I was going to start a thread about it but didn't think that seeing ex footballers in public was worth it. But obviously I was wrong.

when the Hunt brothers had their haulage firm they all used to hang around the pub in Culcheth near the church (Pack Horse?) - Tommy Lawrence used to go down there as well.

I used to work with his ex-missus as well

Saturday morning with:

Luis Enrique

Zubi

Goicochea

Patxi Salinas

Jose Ma Bakero

Remember meeting Sir Roger in Warrington once - when I was about 10. I thought he was the thinest footballer I'd ever seen.

I met him several times a few years back - still my all time liverpool favourite. He's a real gent, isn't he? The way you hope ex-players would be when you meet them.

Fearsome looking fecker though! I take it this was an 'interesting' round of golf - did he hack you down from behind on the 16th? :D
