we were great today, even in the first half, we worked our socks off all over the park. the work ethic of the team today was fantastic, closing down, battling, not giving an inch. the second half we battered them completely.i f***ing hate bolton, they are the anti football, but we approached it the right way today. Gerrard was fantastc, ran himself into the ground, Kuyt is fast becoming one of my favourite players. his workrate is second to none, i was delighted when he scored today. probably the best we have played this season today i reckon

Maybe Rafa's rotation is set to be seen to pay dividends...

i was thinking that today, as other teams players our tiring, ours havent played as many games and seemed fresher, although it was Bolton today, and their midfields average age is 74

The lads were up for it right from the off. Stevie and the rest of them started with a great tempo. I thought we showed Bolton up for the somewhat limited team they are by beating them in the battling department. After that we were all over them and never looked troubled. If we could string a run togethor with this type of play we could still end up in the thick of things if the top two continue to drop points.

Agreed. Stevie G clattering Speed in the first five minutes really set the tone and we bossed the game from there on as much as we have any game this season.

we looked like that valencia team that played us off the park home and away a few years back.

i think we are really starting to see the beginnings of Rafa's Liverpool playing Rafa's way. and i for one like what i am seeing!

Gotta wonder why we can't play against these b******s like that at the Reebok aswell.

To be fair, we were doing alright at their place until that cn.ut of a linesman tried to make a name for himself.

As soon as we scored the first goal i knew we were going to get some more. All that had to happen was for the game to open up a little more, and thats what happened

When Rafa teaches Crouch how to head the ball into a gaping net instead of knocking it down to the keeper we will score a ton of goals. I'm not having a pop at Crouchy, he led the line and worked his socks off. But just because were thrashing top end sides its no reason to ignore looking at areas where we need to improve.

Pennant was lethal on the right and back up brilliantly by Finnan, if our left was that effective we would be an unstoppable handfull for all of Europes top sides.

For years we have been told, or have told ourselves that we are only missing one or two pieces of an every evolving jigsaw. With Rafa at the helm it is obvious which peices we are missing. And I am confident Rafa will find them.

I thought the second half vs.spurs at home was some way better than the one against bolton.

we played really well though.

Crouchy does seem to have a tendency to head the ball right at the keeper. A couple of his headed goals (including the Community Shield) were actually very similar in that he headed them straight where the goalie was standing - only in those cases the goalie managed to get out of the way!

Indeed. I think the nuances of the general advice "make the keeper work" need to dawn on him...

best I've seen us play all season - then again I had drank two pints of Guinness before the game started so my judgement was impaired :(

light weight :P

He's back :D .

Thanks Wayne. Your reports gives us OOT'ers a better view of what is really going on at the game since all we see is what they show on the telly - and they seldom show the work done away from the ball. Keep 'em coming!
