Thought crouch was brilliant although the two missed sitters took the shine off him for me. Kuyt was marvelous too and I would have gone for him but I shall go for big Sami. His heading and positional play was great but the thing that impressed me most was his passing in the first half...unbelievable effort from him.

All our Redmen were great today, so it's not easy to pick out three, but:

 

1. Dirk Kuyt (worked like ten horses out there and always, ALWAYS kept going!)

2. Jermaine Pennant (had a quiet start to the game but was incredible in the second half!)

3. Peter Crouch (worked well and scored a great goal, but he really should take a look at where the keeper is before heading at goal!)

 

Close calls: Hyypiä, Gerrard and Finnan. And also Bolton's keeper. Can't be bothered spelling his weird name

We were superb alround today with mentions to Finnan, Gerrard, Crouch and Carra for superb games too. Another mention for Big Sam for paying us a lot of respect and sitting back.

finnan - unlucky not to score. surely our most consistent player this season?

honourable mentions: pennant - took a while to get it together, increased in confidence. sami - stifled an in-form opposition forward line.

Pennant was much better today. I'm convinced he's a total confidence player. I still think he needs to start believing that he's good enough to play for Liverpool. A few more games like today should help.
