Two Behind Bolton

Point Behind Portsmouth

Lost to Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal AGAIN, battared by Everton in the derby.

Lets be honest, considering we spent errr, about £25 million last summer how come we doing sh't ? In fact how come we are worse than we where last year

Do you think there will ever be a christmas again where we are not sat in the ale house offering excuse after excuse as to why the league was over by November again

Never mind - suppose there is next year eh.

17 years without a title next year. We are stumbling through a living f'ckin nightmare here.

Will we realistically, and I mean realistically challenge for the title in the near future, what do you think ?

Battered by Everton. f*** off will yer. We had enough chances to f***ing batter them but yet again didn't take them.

Give them their 15 mins of fame as it doesn't happen very often.

Everton 3-0 Liverpool

I say again, BATTERED by Everton

Goals win games, not chances

We lost the game, we were not battered. Losing 3 nil and not having any input in the game is being battered but not in your book. Glass always empty eh?

Come July you'll be convinced that next year is ours again

SR I am the eternal optomist lad, as you know

But it suddenly dawned on me this morning that we are no nearer winning the league than when Evans, Houllier or even Souness was in charge

We are miles behind again, already

When is this 17 year nightmare going to end. We seem to have become an ugly Man Utd clone of the 80's the club we used to all laugh at.

Its sh'te, thank god for Istanbull

You are a good red, you can tell that because you are brilliant with excuses

Me mates are the same, we always have a brilliant list of excuses as to why we never get near winning the league

New owners to shake the club by the balls and move the whole thing up a level ? I hope so, because beleive me, before you know it the 26 years the mancs took to win it will creep up on us

No i actually wrote to Everton to complain about the match. Complained about my restricted view and never received a reply. Just cos i mentioned the fact i saw all three f***ing goals.

I don't have excuses, check my previous posts if you want. On the day we lost due to not taking our chances as well as one awful miss by the ref for one of the goals. The last one was scored in injury time. Hence we may not have been chasing the game.

Anyway i'll let you wallow in your sea of self pity, not really arsed, was just pointing out the obvious that we created more than enough to win, but your glass half empty anology is up to you.

So is the fact we always seem to create more than enough to win but end up losing luck, or a symptamatic weakness in the team ? ie we couldnt score in a brothel with £500.

And as I originally said, they beat us 3-0 and therefore battered us, FACT.

We have been out of the title race in November now every year for the last three, it doesnt actually seem to be getting any better does it.

This thread wasnt about moaning though to be honest, it was meant to be a discussion about whether anyone thinks we will realistically get close to the title in the next couple of years

And your point is

Are we honestly going to spend thirty pages arguing about what is and what is not a battering or are we going to discuss the fundamental issue, which is the league table, which is the RESULTS against Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton amongst others

Its sh'te again isnt it, just as it has been pre-xmas for the last 17 years

Even when we won the first 10 or 11 under houllier we then imploded and went on the worst run in 50 years or something

Its mad isnt it, the new ownership of the club will hopefully shake the whole thing back into life

freudian?

Corrected ;)

the point is 3-0 where we had chances and didnt take them was a battering and fulham where we beat them more with less chances was a battering or a pure anhilation?

To be honest, I have been very very disappointed this season with the results, the performances at united and arsenal were the worst thing.

Just so frustrating

What's even more disappointing to me is the fact that against most of those teams mentioned we went down with little but a wimper.

Man Utd - A gutless perfromance

Arsenal - We were still passing sideways at 3-0 down

Bolton - Outmuscled us from the off.

Everton - Took their chances that we gifted them

Chelsea - Put up a fight until Drogba scored then we ran out of ideas

Pompey - Huffed and Puffed with little to show

These were all games against the top 6 teams and we managed 1 point at home to Pompey from a possible 18. I think some of our performances at home have been very good and some a little flattering.

I would argue more with HR / HS but i'm going for a pint down the local, then train down south at 4pm.

Batter away lad, we get battered on your terms by one team, we have battered plenty this season as well.

The other problem is that Chelsea raised the bar a loooong way during the last couple of years. Even at out best we'd struggle to get that many points. See the link below.
