Is really getting going now.

To his credit he said the whole trial thing wasnt an excuse, but surely it must have had an effect. And now he's free from that worry and is fit again, he looks the player he can be.

I thought he was excellent today, his all round game was good, his work rate, running into the spaces, stretching Charlton, his delivery intot he box was class. He is an intelligent player. On another day, Dirk could have and should have got 2 or 3 goals just from Bellamy's approach play.

He's a very difficult player for defenders to handle. He's quick and plays almost in line with defenders which will give him plenty of opportunities to beat the offside trap. Kuyt is also doing a lot of unselfish work to free him up.

Yep, in the last few games he has really taken a few steps up and proved that he's good enough for us. This is the Bellamy I want to see.

great finish today... though he really needs to be more decisive at times in the box, as a couple of times he had opportunities but invites defenders in to close him down...

can't complain about his work rate and attitude though.

Agreed. Looking confident and brings us real quality. Hope Kuyt's not going off the boil - wasn't a great perf from him today.

aye, Dirk looked a bit jaded today, but I'm sure he'll be ok. On another day he'd have got 2 or 3. And he chose the right day not to get 'em, so long as he makes up for it in another game where we need a goal :D

But even so, there where plenty of signs of a good understanding between him and Bellamy. They linked up very well many times today.

For sure, Kuyt's lack of cutting edge was more apparent because he and Bellamy were working together to create openings in the first place, if that makes sense. Superb link-up in the opening half when they produced about four one-twos in succession!

I've felt from day one that Kuyt isn't super-fit. I don't know what pre-season training he did over in Holland but he's always seemed a little off the pace to me. The constant big games also add to it.

And yet he's still been absolute quality. A full pre-season under Rafa and Pako and he'll be flying.

only thing bellamy did wrong today was not looking up a few times and crossing straight away when nobody was in the box. aside from that he was quality and his finish for the goal was excellenté . kuyt wasnt on the ball at all today, shoulda put away at least 1.

aye, the good thing is, if they carry on in that vain, you know the goals will arrive! They really do seem to be getting summet going as a partnership. The signs are there, and really, they havne't played that many games together yet, so hopefully it's just the start for them!

Think it's got nothing to do with the court-case, more a case of him timing his runs better and fitting in with the shape of the team. Him and Kuyt will score a shed-load if they are allowed to continue the partnership - which looks quite promising.

BELLAMY: NICE TO SCORE, BUT BETTER TO WIN

Lee Brown 16 December 2006

Craig Bellamy was delighted to score his 50th league goal in Liverpool's 3-0 Premiership win over Charlton at the Valley, but he was even happier that Rafa's men had continued their winning run.

"I'm delighted to have scored my 50th league goal, but it's even better to get the three points and keep our run going," said Bellamy.

"We knew the second goal was vital. It took us a while to get it, but when we did we knew it was all over. While there was only one goal in it, it didn't matter that we were dominating and Charlton missed a good chance just before I scored."

Bellamy has now scored five times for the Reds, but when asked about his partnership with Dirk Kuyt he was quick to point out the importance of adding to that with the competition for places strong.

He said,"Dirk is a good intelligent player, but there are a lot of good players at Liverpool so we know we must continue to play well to keep our place."

I think his really good form has come about since Stevie moved into the middle. Not taking anything away from Momo, he's a brilliant player but I think with Stevie in the middle there is more creativity in our play and I think Bellamy relished that.

kuyts' finishing is not what i'd hoped for.

He's been poor for about a month

Work rate carries him through

To be fair he did the right thing at least 3 times by trying to place it in the far corner instead of going for power, which reminded me of Robbies finishing technique. It just didn't play for him today. His passing caould use some improvement though.

He's a class act, when Bellamy was going through his rough patch he didn't even look like scoring, nor did Crouch when he went through the same last year, but big Dirk looks dangerous even though we all know he is not playing at his best.
