What does everyone think will happen to Robbie at the end of the season? Even if he knocks in a few goals, will Rafa still want to replace him with a younger striker?

I think we need to keep him. We need an old head in the squad and Robbie seems one of the most popular in the team and would be good for morale. He's still a class finisher and even if he comes on for 10mins, he still looks like scoring more than are other strikers.

I have loved having Robbie back.

he isnt going to get alot of games which means he wont get fully fit

as much as I would love to see him stick around, I can see him dropping a division locally......

Its been great having him back, and knowing Robbie I am loathe to right him off but...

I can't really see him getting more games than he's getting now and he's not going to get much quicker or more prolific so...

He should be getting more games. Bellamy should be given a go on the right and Fowler should alternate with Crouch in partnering Kuyt. I'm not convinced at all that the Crouch-Kuyt partnership is the best in every game, so having a different forward like Robbie up front would give us some variety.

I think its his last season BUT posibilly back room staff?

Rafa: 'Robbie, this will have to be your last season as a player with us, for sure...but..'

Robbie: 'Yes boss?'

Rafa: 'We are bringing in lots of new young talented strikers...raw, but talented...'

Robbie: 'Yes boss?'

Rafa : 'I would like you to stay...to join the staff...give them the benefit of your experience..'

Robbie: 'Yes boss! I'd love to'

Rafa : 'Show them how you have to be, what you have to know - what skills you need to be really successful'

Robbie: 'Yes boss - I understand completely'

Six months later...

Rafa : 'Ola, Robbie'

Robbie: 'Allright boss?'

Rafa : ' How are your young protegés coming along? Have you taught them all you know about how to be really successful?'

Robbie: 'Yes boss, I have like'

Rafa : 'Excellent Robbie - can I see them in action some time?'

Robbie: 'Er, no boss'

Rafa : 'Why not Robbie?'

Robbie: 'They've all left to become property devlopers and landlords boss'

Rafa : 'Cristo en una bici, me da fuerza... '

I dont, i think he will retire and join the backroom rather than play a division lower, financially he doesnt need to play anyways, its his love for liverpool and the game but moreso for liverpool thats kept him here.

I'm not sure what Fowler's credentials are for any kind of back-room staff job - let alone the assistant manager role if that's what you're implying.

Robbie's still a good option to have. We could easily get a couple of injuries in the strikers - like we have now in centre midfield - and God would step in and give us a goal threat and clever link-up play just as he's done all his career.

Ideally, you would hope that one of the youth team strikers would be emerging next season. Craig Lindfield looks a prospect and will be 19 start of next season, when Fowler will be 32. These two fighting it out as our 4th/5th choice strikers would work pretty well and I'm sure Lindfield is already learning in training from Fowler's movement in the box which is still second to none.

I thought he'd have come back a little fitter this season. After his decent finish to last season when he looked hungry and worked hard i thought he'd step it up a level.

When he's played this season he looks to be even further off the pace than when he arrived from Man City. Has he got tired of trying to get fit or was it an impossible dream that he'd be able to get back any semblance of match fitness ?

I think this is his last season playing and there's nothing in his character that suggests he'd become a coach/manager or even want to.

I'd say Robbie must be pretty frustrated being a peripheral figure after getting another year to prove himself. Personally I don't think he has looked like he is fit enough to do to much damage wether from the start or as a sub. I can see him calling it a day this summer and drifting away from the game. I can't really see him as a coach but maybe Rafa has other ideas for him.
