Magic8Ball Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I think we can safely assume we wont be winning the league this season, so the only question that matters is will there be Champions league football at anfield next season? to the degree all the other cups and competitions now no longer matter - it was always the league and ensuring that we qualified for the CL with the league out of the way... anyone else unsure we'll make the CL ?
Knoxy Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 We're 4 points off a CL spot Why do the other competitions no longer matter?
Flanders Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 No. There will be no Champions league football for LFC next season, this will lead to Gerrard, Alonso, Kuyt and anyone else you rate leaving and a steady period of decline. Is that the right answer?

It'a not the 'right answer', but it's a real possibility, as far as I'm concerned.
madaboutlfc Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 It'a not the 'right answer', but it's a real possibility, as far as I'm concerned.its not.. we will qualify.. win a few trophies as well..

No. Rafa can't cut it in the Prem'. We are a decent cup side and that's it. its not.. we will qualify.. win a few trophies as well.. What about the Prem'? Why can't we show we are the best team over the 38 games in the Prem'? We as a club, have got psychological baggage.
spf Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 No. Rafa can't cut it in the Prem'. We are a decent cup side and that's it. so that'll be why we finished last season with a record points total then?
Guest anfieldanfield Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 its not.. we will qualify.. win a few trophies as well.. Christ, I wish I had your optimism.
Otocon Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 so that'll be why we finished last season with a record points total then? We still haven't won it though!
Jonesy Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 We still haven't won it though! I thnik you'll find we've won it 18 times.
Reggie Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Win the CL this season and we automatically qualify. Simple as.
Woodsyla Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 It'a not the 'right answer', but it's a real possibility, as far as I'm concerned. You need to extract your head from your a*** then. We are phenomenal at home, only Chelsea have beaten us at home in the last 15 months. We are the worst away side in the league and yet ..... we are 4pts behind a CL spot. We have played all the top teams away from home and our bogey team. We will be 4th by Xmas and wont be out of the top 4 for the rest of the season.

Guest Terkop Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Would be very surprised if Liverpool finish outside the top 4, I cannot see Villa, Ports-mouth and Bolton keeping this up. The only real hope is Spurs seeing as they have the best squad in the league along with Liverpool outside the big 3. Would like to be proven wrong though....
stressederic Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 shouldn't you be telling us 8 ball? He's a dirty imposter.

Magic8Ball Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 the outlook is uncertain, a cup maybe but its going to be tighter than people think to get 4th
growler Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 did I go to sleep for a few months? I think i missed christmas and easter too. You see, last time I looked, we were in november and only 5 points behind 3rd place, with over half of the season to go. I didn't realise there were only a few games to go. Get some fecking perspective. who in the league is capable of finishing above us? I am not surprised our players throw in the towel. why not? the fans do.
anny road Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 we are four points off Arsenal we aint gonna challnge for a title but a place in the top four is well within our reach
Guz Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Top 4 ? I'm still looking at top 3 personally. I dont see any reason why we can't have a similar kind of season to the last. We didnt beat mancs, arsenal or chelsea last year either and all 3 have to come to Anfield where we are excellent. Last year around March time I think we were about 10 points behind United and we almost made it up in less than 3 months. We can do the same over the season Forget 4th, 3rd and three trophies should be our target at the moment. Obviously the latter is quite unrealistic but 'make us dream' redmen
meepins Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Why stop there, I'm sticking with my call of Prem + Champs League double. Not much fun looking forward to games if ya can't dream a little.I'd put money on it if I had any.

We will have Gerrard off you, but we dont want Alonso because according to another thread he is s****.
