Riley was fine, his usual pompous self, but not that bad.

 

We were poor where it counted, in the box, we gave up 1 well taken goal and the whole team/coaches need to step back and take a serious look at the way they are playing

Even though we should have had a pen, the reason we didn't get anything today was because we fluffed the good chances that we created. That said, Riley consistently gave them free kicks for 'nothing challenges' and ignored numerous similar fouls commited against us.

 

Playing at Chelsea, with Riley as ref, this is no great surprise, but was still pretty annoying.

Arsenal should have had a penalty today. But they didn't sulk, they went ahead and scored and kept a clean sheet. Both of which we were unable to emulate. Game over, move on.

Thought Riley was ok today, yes we should have had a penalty, but equally we should have scored without his help.

He's a fussy little f***** but overall he wasn't his usual terrible self. Made a good decision to send off Ballack and he let Momo off the hook. Yet we still couldn't take advantage. Not blaming the ref for our poor finishing.

Riley was as s*** as ever.

 

We should have had 2 penalties - one of which was a cast-iron penalty.

 

The booking for Momo and Warnock were shocking - and not sure about Ballacks sending off.

 

Pretty much Every 50-50 went to Chelsea and it was a suprise to get anything from Riley when it happened.

 

I think referees have been ordered not to consider giving us penalties after so much was made of the Sheffield United one.

I thought he had a poor 1st half & a good 2nd. After Robben came on they, surprise, surprise, started to go sprawling in the box. He could have given one of them. It would have been wrong, but he didn't go for it. Overall he did Ok, given that they were looking for everything they could get.

he's an appalling referee. he's weak, easily influenced, was clearly bullied at school and is the definition of an official who has never played the game.
