2 great goals from Van Persie, Kuyt had another finish harshly disallowed (referee Mark Webb) and went close with a few other chances including a vicious overhead volley.

Great attacking play from Holland. Much much better than in the World Cup, is it maybe because they played without Robben?

Robben is a class player, hateful little s*** but skillful, he'll be back in the side i'm sure. They've got rid of the reliance on RvN who made them a bit more predictable than a traditional Holland team, their attacking play seems more inventive now. Kuyt is a target man but he'll pop up on the wing and run at defenders as well as get on the end of things in the 6 yard box.

Kuyt looked absolutely quality, involved in absolutely everything Holland did and looked very sharp indeed.

 

I believe he played as part of a forward three, but to be honest you wouldn't be able to tell from the highlights what position he was playing in because he was everywhere.

 

Looked like he was playing up front, on the right and on the left. If they'd have shown their opponents attacking I'd have expected to see Kuyt in a green top diving to push the shot away...

Holland were so dissapointing in that game againt Portugal (forgetting the red cards). They played well for about 10 minutes but as soon as Maniche scored, their self indulgent wingers (Robben and van Persie) went into over drive and barely passed the ball. Added to that the midfielders shooting on sight from about 40 yards out every five minutes. No wonder Kuyt looked poor in the world cup.

His name seems to be pronounced Dirik Kowt. Can't wait to see the lad playing regularly for us and yeah, Schneider is quality.

He and RVP switched wings during the game, and for the last 20 minutes or so he played as a CF.

Also very encouraging is the fact that he put it on a plate for others a couple of times with some great crosses.

Last night Holland were very dissapointing again. We played without class. Only highlights were Kuyt and Van Persie. The way Kuyt played is typical for him, but he clearly is no winger.

Van Basten is getting alot of criticism overhere and quite rightly so. Best striker ever, but as a coach he lost the plot.

He is defo one of the sweetest strikers of the ball I've seen in a while.
