His Autobiography? It was in Sainsburys on Wednesday! I finished it last night!

Not a bad read... nothing really that interesting, apart from a scrape with the law and a few practical jokes and that. It's worth reading for a Liverpool fan, but not for fans of other clubs I'd say.

Has a go at a few players, but most of the time they are Liverpool players!! Far too much love for some Chelsea players, particularly John Terry (JT did this, JT text me that) for my liking. It doesn't really shed any light on the whole Chelsea shenanigans.

The highlights for me was the first chapter where he spoke about the effect Hillsborough had on him, and it's good to see that he's helping make sure the new and foreign players understand how important it is to me, and that The S*n is never welcome at Melwood, and of course the run to Istanbul.

There is on massive revelation that made me sick to my core:

He wore a Man Utd shirt with #7 and Robson on the back until his arl fella collared him and had words.

Carra's autoboigraphy would be

"JT did this and that, so our kid rammed it up his mum's Gary Glitter"

I'd bother queueing to get it signed if I thought Gerrard would stay beyond the hour or two he is supposed to be doing it.

Puzzled about the release date. The book was on sale down here over a week ago.

He also says Gary Neville is a better right back than Finnan, Neville is 'the best right back I have ever played with' apparantly, he also has a right pop at Diao which is fair enough I suppose and calls big Igor a t**, I don't think he liked Patrik Berger much either.

I don't think its a bad read but i am getting fed up with reading players books as they all more or less come across as spolit kids who always want their own way, I'm sure its the surroundings they find themselves in that influence their opinions of themselves but it would be nice to read a book and put it down saying 'yeah, I like that bloke and would like to have a pint with them' but not yet, Robbie, Stevie, Barnes, all the same, I can't wait for Carras tho...!

BTW only my opinion after reading the book, I'm sure Elisha will say what a top bloke Stevie is, and I'm sure he is, its just I don't think footballers come across well at all in books as they live in a totally different world to us normal plebs!

what does he say about diao?

What a silly thing to say about Murphy.

In place of who, Stevie.

I am awaiting delivery of my copy but I'm not very surprised by his comment about Murphy.

No, mate, far from it, I dont think the book portrays him in a particularly brilliant light myself. I do agree with him about Neville / Finnan

He played with Babbel, ffs.

presuambly he thinks on the left ahead of the likes of Garcia and Kewell. I'm not sure if he rates Garcia to be honest with you. He certainly seems to b****** him every game. Often for not much at all.

Or maybe he just wanted to stick up for his mate

Good to hear that mate from someone who knows him well, Maybe he is right about Neville but I don't see the point in bigging up a player who you are still playing against, when he retires, sure, tell it like he saw it but while he is still playing... :hmm:

Why, what does it say about him?

Says he wasn't good with the young YTS kids, didn't talk to them much and then when Stevie was saying how Robbie, Redknapp and Macca were good with him when he first broke into the team he says Berger was...OK. Damning him with faint praise I think the saying is!

He loves Didi tho, says his life took a turn for the better when he met Didi, which I think is a nice think to say, he also apologizes for the 'he squealed like a girl' comment, he says he did say it but it was seconds after the game so fair nuff. Didi sounds like a top man.

The thing that made me laugh about the didi "squealed like a girl" comment was that he appologised to didi in the book as he didn't get round to doing it personally. Come on Stevie you seen him nearly every day in training for god knows how many years after the comment to say it, but you didn't get time

There is a lot in there about England and it comes across to me that he cares about England just as much as he does Liverpool (half the book is about England), which comes across in the Chelsea Euro 2004 saga with his comments to Owen. Personally I've always been a club before country man as I believe most LFC fans are but with Stevie it comes across as pretty much 50/50.

One final thing and it might be that I got a pre-final-check version (28th August from WHSmiths) but come on Stevie it wasn't Etherington that you where chasing and hit the cross-shot that went in it was Konchesky I know you might have been caught up in the moment of the game but at least get your co-writers (Henry Winter / Paul Joyce) to check facts before it goes in a book!

The thing that gets me is that Fowler is rightly slated for failing to take reponsibility for some of his actions in his book and yet Gerrard gets off completely free on the charge, particularly around Chelsea II.

I think the Didi thing was just something that never got mentioned between them, so it obviously played on his mind that he was out of order and the book was a good time to say it.

And, England v Liverpool.........Only one winner.
