Leo No.8 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I don't think he'll add a great deal to Chelsea next season. Great footballer, but has a gigantic attitude and to me is no better than Lampard overall. He's an attacking midfielder who scores quite a few and has excellent quality, but won't go past players or put too many tackles in. Certainly not the player I'd have gone for had I been Mourinho...
Boca Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Had an argument with a Chelsea fan in the pub last night about Ballack. He started off by saying "our fella" was the only German to play well. The prick hasn't even kicked a ball for them yet but this smug b*****d kept droning on about "our fella". The argument escalated and ended by him telling me Liverpool had never won the premiership. I would expect that from a 15 year old manc fan but this guy is about 50. They are getting more like the mancs every day these c****.I would give anything to see Ballack carved in two by one of the Equador defenders in the next game. f***ing pricks, the lot of them.

ChrisC Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) congratulations chris, for realising Ballack is 'world class'* *a phrase that doesn't look out of place alongside 'war chest' and 'come and get me plea' in the book of Annoying Football Phrases' Why dont you actually add your opinion instead of some miserable attempt at humour? Edited June 15, 2006 by chrisc
Guest RedDwarf Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Huh? Was this before or after the match? eggsackerly what I was thinking. Sometimes I reckon I must be watching a different game to some of you lot!!
Guest Cally77 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I thought he was average. And I hope he plays for Chelsea in that position next season as he'll get slaughtered.
StevieC Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Why dont you actually add your opinion instead of some miserable attempt at humour? You're not allowed to praise players from other teams- particularly if they play for Chelsea. Ask Cobs.
RedMarauder Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 He had a pretty good game, not spectacular, but thought that 'Larry the' Lahm has been very good for them over the 2 games

Stevie H Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 he does seem to have a gigantic ego and his captaincy seems to consist of moaning at players who aren't as good as him.
CarraLegend Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 A diving whinging s***house. Well, thats just about the perfect Chelsea player.
nvdm Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) He had a pretty good game, not spectacular, but thought that 'Larry the' Lahm has been very good for them over the 2 games He was excellent during the Euro champs in 2004 too. I thought Mertersacker looked impressive. Edited June 15, 2006 by Shaka
Guest Kaizer Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) Ballack is one of the most complete players around, as it stands today he would make any team in the world look better with him in the side. Edited June 15, 2006 by Kaizer
intense enigma Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Ballack is one of the most complete players around, as it stands today he would make any team in the world look better with him in the side. Lets see how he does when we feckin unleash Momo to hound him throughout the whole friggin match
jimmylibel Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Seriously what did he do last night that was 'world class'? Apart from hitting the crossbar from 3/4 yards out. Thought he was quite good last night, but 'world class'... where is that coming from?
Stevie H Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 i agree jim, i thought he was, if fully fit, a bit lazy. never really looked to drive his team, played a pass and then stopped running. not doubting he's very good, but i don't think he's all that./

12twelve Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 To be fair, I thought he wasn't his usual self. Couldn't afford to get into dangerous situations since he has to babysit Frings.

ChrisC Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Ok granted he wasnt fully fit, but what I was referring to was his movement, vision, passing (off both feet) was incisive and I cant remember him giving the ball away at all in that match. Wasnt as creative as he usually is but still had a big hand in most of germanys decent attacks despite looking knackered and not yet match fit.

Didn't see one example of movement, vision or passing that was 'world class' last night though. He was effective, yes. But that's all. Missed a good opportunity and didn't exactly create many shooting opportunities for himself either.
RP Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Gerrard is better. I agree. It is a shame that England won't give Gerrard the freedom that Germany give Ballack. England should work the rest of the team around our Stevie. But then again, that'll be a millisecond of sleep I lose over it.
John am Rhein Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Gerrard is better. Is true. B*ll*ck is a very over-rated, if still fairly good, player. I agree. It is a shame that England won't give Gerrard the freedom that Germany give Ballack. England should work the rest of the team around our Stevie. But then again, that'll be a millisecond of sleep I lose over it. Also right. If anything Schweinsteiger's contribution was reduced by him being moved aside to accommodate B*ll*ck - although obviously the relative strength of opposition - Costa Rica/Poland - needs to be considered.
