Very much so. Up until the penalty the game was very much in the balance - we were s***. The 4-1 scoreline flattered us immensely. That's the worrying thing so far this year - we've been s*** in just about every game. Even against the European dross we've been labouring hugely. The first 45 mins against Trabzonspor was as bad as I've ever seen (late Babel goal aside), It would be nice to play well in one game this season, just to give us a little hope of what might be.

Which is fair enough, although I think it's safe for all of us to try to ignore the more extreme comments being made about our manager. I think most people are genuinely just a bit numbed by the whole affair - I don't think there's much anger or vitriol aimed at Roy (again, ignoring the nutters). I have to say though, that I think he'd be getting a bit more sympathy from fans if it wasn't for some of the odd things he's been coming out with before and after the games.

You're right of course. The quality of the performances have been borderline dreadful so far, but there are glaring weaknesses in the squad. I doubt whether those four would get into any team in the top 6-7 tbh. The way Johnson is playing at the moment you could probably at him to the list, although you at least know he can perform better that this.

It really isn't. Trouble is, there a sub-set of c**** on this board, most of which who have been on ignore for god knows how long, who were utter f***wits towards our previous manager and wanted rid no matter what. They've now aligned themselves 100% behind "not Benitez" and are acting like the preachy, condescending, hypocritical t*** they've always been (not saying everyone who defends Hodgson is that way, just the most evangelical ones). How it really is, is much like richwilks describes above.
