This logic is f***ing stupid. People complained plenty about Itandje, but don't any more because he's been sitting on his a*** for years. In 3 years time, nobody will be moaning about Jones either. You seem to be saying that because bad decisions have been made in the past, people can't moan about bad decisions made now. And to compare our financial situation when we signed Cavalieri to now is, to be honest, beyond f***ing stupid. I agree that RH must have signed Jones because he rated him. But it's also clear that the fact he was homegrown counted for a lot as well - and that proved to be totally unnecessary from a squad point of view.

I like the fact it's a member of his own team that gives him the most grief for kicking out. He deserved the second yellow to be honest, so the play acting hardly led to the sending off.

It's hugely mediocre. A few injuries in key areas and we're going to struggle massively this season. Without the requirement for a homegrown keeper the decision to sign Jones is f***ing baffling, no matter how much some of you decide it was inevitable. We can all understand that Cav probably wanted to move on, and that's fair enough, but there was cheaper and better available.

I'm sure that had a lot to do with Cav going. It does make you wonder whether there were any cheaper (non-homegrown) options available that would have saved us a couple of million though.

Whilst this is true, i'm sure you'd concede that one of the reasons we conceded so few goals last season was the fact we played so incredibly defensively for a lot of the games. We were a far more cohesive defensive unit in the 2-3 seasons prior to that. Oh and good luck Konchesky.

He was bloody terrible against Trabzonspor, and then he scored. That seems to have transformed his performance into looking decent. Basically he is what he is, a frustratingly clueless footballer who'll score a few good goals, but far too infrequently. The only reason he's worth a try is that our squad is so f***ing bereft of striking options that he's more or less all we've got left.
