We couldn't replace directly, the movement and goals of Sturridge and Suarez, but this adjustment has given us an extra man forward. Be interesting to see how Sturridge's return changes things.

Carra criticises Skrtel for hesitating, or recklessness, not for spotting the danger and winning a header. The crazy pass for the chance they missed was a shocker, but that aside he was superb.

He become awesome in the centre of a 3, or he becomes an enormous waste of money. I think he could be the former, but Skrtel seems absolutely certain of a start regardless of how he plays.

Nonsense this, he was getting stick on here for suggesting Sterling needed resting earlier in the season, when there were signs of fatigue from last year/lack of off-season. If Sterling needed a rest, I'm certain BR would leave him out. More important to manage his training between games I'd have thought.

It's Rodgers' comments about 'trying to keep the squad together', not mine. That, and half a dozen players under contract negotiation, of varying ages and importance, has been discussed elsewhere. Gerrard, Lucas, Johnson, Flanno, Henderson, and Sterling, maybe more ? The Sterling one concerns me to be honest.

I was concerned he would be a liability as a wing back, but in reality the 3 at the back and 2DM's wasn't dissimilar to what we've had with 4 at the back and 1 DM, except for being more solid. The wide CB's play almost as cautious fullbacks, and the 2 DM's sat to help out the central CB. The other 5 were fairly fluid, and seemed to give us a lot more options in the final 3rd, of which Markovic was a welcome addition. Lovren's lack of pace the only real issue, Sakho improves that.

Think Toure and Sakho are the best bets for either side of a 3. Lovren likely more at home centre of a 3, so either him or Skrtel in there. 3 at the back, with Sakho left edge, could be the start of him nailing down a regular spot.
