Finnan had a very good game, sure he was playing right midfield for most of it. People were harping on about not having an attacking full back - I think he showed last night how he can do it.

Yes you say that and I will take your word for it. I genuinely believe that many supporters are losing their "way" or love for the club because of the lack of "success" - not Champions League's or FA Cups, but genuine weekly good performances and winning matches and mounting league title challenges i.e. the bread and butter. The modern game have moved on and the club and the fans (i.e. us) I think are finding it hard to adjust to the harsh realities of the new money in football. I ask supporters who refuse to buy merchandise in any form, are they the same people who complain that we only have enough money for 7million pound players? To buy the best players, in the modern game, you have to spent the money to get them - if we the fans don't support the club financially - how are we expected to compete?

If we were genuine challengers and Hicks and Gillet were here, I think people would still be in better form and would hold their interest. We have been spoiled with success for so long that we are finding it harder and harder to take "challenging for 4th" every year. I would have to agree with alot of what has been said, but I still would never give up my support or love for the club, but ask yourselves this: If Liverpool ever got relegated (again), how many people would you think would desert the club? I think it would be thousands upon thousands and I think there would be only 30ish,000 turning up at Anfield. Maybe we aren't the great supporters we think we are, we basically want success. If we don't get it, we will be off spending our time at something else.

Don't get me wrong, you may indeed be correct, but Im just wondering what you are basing your opinion on, because I can't find anything concrete in basing that on. The owners are aware of the fans wanting the league and have stated that on many occasions, whether they will put the money up in order to achieve that is another thing. But I wonder whether if they do fail to live up to their promises, will we march on Anfield asking them to sell the club?

Doesn't matter what age he is, he should be judged on his contribution to the team and how fit he is. Sure we should have got rid of Sami 2-3 years ago based on that logic. Players look afterthemselves much better than they did in the booze cultured 70-90's and can play till 34-35 today, especially defenders. We have other area's the Right Back to worry about in the next 2 years and that is our lack of attacking guile.
