  1. arrogant? We're the ones saying who we think shouldn't be bloody managing the club!
  2. Nah, the beer.
  3. I think Dus lost this argument on-purpose in order to win it.

    David Ngog

N'Gog needs to improve his heading but positionally the man is getting much much better. He's good with the ball at his feet, he's quick and he scores goals. Also, when he plays, torres plays better cause he he opens up space for him.
  5. I'll tell you what the difference was. Utd are used to winning the league (or doing very well). They are mentally prepared for winning in a league setup. Just like we were better in Europe than them and everyone else for a few years. Rafa started out as a CL manager and with less nonsense going on, who knows.... but when it comes to a league, you don't just need a great team.. you need consistent performances , home and away... the 2 legged approach is totally different.
  6. Constantly being under the media spotlight for all the wrong 'off the field' reasons takes its toll. all I know is the last game we played before the previous owners took over was a Champions league final... Now if that says nothing to you then...I dunno, eat all yer vegitables or something..
  7. It bloody well will if we don't get a new manager in!
  8. Yes.

    Hat trick.
  10. I tihnk this is why the safe seating could be more dangerous.
  11. If I were going to answer this seriously.. then I'd say it's hard to compare the scenarios. The club is the same , the owners are not. the mood of the players who were wearing red in both seasons is, as a result of things outside whatever manager was in charge is not the same. Also, the league is very different. it seems that the top clubs have weakened slightly but also (and more so), the weaker and mid table clubs have improved this season. If I were to call what would be a better performance from a manager then i'd say 5th place would be better than last season. (please no moronic argument that 5th is always better than 7th)... I am taking into account the damage that the previous owners and the rest of the things mentioned above into account. might I add that he should only keep his job if we are to take a CL place... cause to be fair, we are picking on Rafa's worst season.. if we were to compare Hodgson to Rafa's best then he'd be out the door faster than etc.
  12. Ha ha , jesus I love it here! So Cobs, what's your opinion on breast implants?
  13. I didn't. You.............. are fired. I'm only messin around.. I think I reached critical mass a few minutes ago, apparently Roy Hodgson is a cant.
  14. Hey you, Player of Games.... you'd better stay on his case! Can't let some silly s*** talk like that go unanswered.
  15. I miss sitting down with a beer and enjoying a f***in match.
  16. "There will be one minute of added time"..........................................b****x Ah sure , luck is a one way street. being the highest ranking team in europe in a 5 year period was all luck! lucky luck luck! luck luck luuucck!
  17. I'm inclined to be against this.. but that's cause I'm not sure how they intend on making it safe. If it's do-able then it would be pretty cool. Also, there is no way in hell that we should be the first club to impliment it.
  18. Here here! *rallies behind winning point*
  19. I was always against Hodgson being our manager but I have admittedly gone quiet on the matter due to a good 3-0 win. I havent forgotten the last european game though... we played to draw there and that's not on if you ask me.. but I'm willing to try and forget it for now as I don't think NESV are going to do a thing about it and I'll be damned if I'm gonna hope we lose in order to get rid of him. If we keep climbing the premiership table , then I'll shut my bloody mouth about Hodgson. even if he is a "supermassive owl cant" Rafa got 10 premiership wins in a row didn't he?
  20. Won the league? No ... But I think our 2nd placed team of a few years ago would have walked this season. Gerrard and Torres used to be friends... One day things went a bit far in the shower and now as a result, they don't link up as well as they used to on the pitch................... God it's awkward when Torres scores these days
  21. Torres has perked up from his games for Spain in the WC. Johnson has been utter rubbish until Hodgson called him out. Agger is going to retire from football soon and it has nothing to do with Hodgson.. so for me that leaves Reina. Also yes, firing Roy would be a statement of intent.. but it'd be a pretty short lived statement. Don;t get me wrong though, I often thinkt hat it'd be best to fire him and put Gerrard in as a player manager until the end of the season. We have people in charge of signings now so as mad as it sounds... well, we kinda need the inspiration... I don't know if this mad call would be better but it couldnt be much worse really could it? So , on that point I'd basically be saying that if you fire roy now with yer statement of intent, then you have to appoint a Liverpool legend as caretaker manager while we look for quality... otherwise, we have no choice but to wait and hope. Also, mereiles is a fantastic signing.. he's the closest to Alonso that we have.. doesn't dictate play as much (who the hell does)... but he is far more mobile. he certainly wants to play for Hodgson (he is his signing)....
  22. I'd say no to van gaal (success on absolutely fantastic players) no to ranieri just (under rated manager.. but we need a top replacement.. possible fall back) Blanc no van maarwijk : in my ignorance,i i dont know this guy. deschamps : absolutely not.. this guy is all name. So for me, Del Bosque by a country mile. Great manager... if not then Ranieri (massive improvement on what we have and some decent attacking play)... Ranieris problem for me seemed to be mostly his prescence/image.. that does carry through to the players but... you never know. trafford centre? *awaits flaming*... Im Irish, not a scouser... is this good?
  23. Dalglish would be great in many ways.. I'd love to give hima trial but the previous owners dont like it and the new ones dont seemt o either so there has to be something there... either that or they are takiong their time to make the big decisions... remember , this is all new to them and if this si the case then even though it'll frustrate me to supernova at times, it's a great trait for them to have. Personally I want Rafa back.. I know I'll get slated for dreaming... ya, he had his failings but you know.. when i think of 2005, I don;t just think about the players on the pitch. I think about the rivalry between Rafa and Mourinho.. I think of how our team were under dogs against Leverkusen. I had a good laugh when we then went on to beat the proper teams after that. Under dogs against Leverkusen?... Rafa , one way or the other put us on the map. Torres came here cause of him, Reina came here cause of him..and even though Alonso left because of him.. he also would never have put on a Liverpool jersey in the first place if it wasn't for him. I do think we'd need Pako back though. Rafa cant do everything and he needs a man between himself and the players... as you know Yosi left saying that Rafa never communicated with him. This is of course not a problem that Mourinho has... however, I rate both managers above almostall other, regardless of Rafa's situation at Inter now.... Inter are a team who fire managers on a whim. Does anyone else want Rafa back?
  24. I want a new manager too but this is a bit over the top. For me it isn't personal, I just don't think he is good enough. He has a small club mentality. Maybe the owners think that this will change as he settles in. We aren't a club who fire managers on a whim or even in the same area code where whim resides... But who is out there and available now?.. if we fire Hodgson now what does it say to the next guy coming in the door? I do want change and sometimes I scream it.. and yes, beating a good team 3-0 does quieten my shouting... if you cant admit that happens even a little then you're lying to yourself cause I doubt there are many on here who want us to lose in order to get rid of Hodgson. If there are.. I've no time for you (not now anyway... I cant speak for the future). I will say one thing... The players seem to want to play for him. Except Reina, who is possibly off this summer.
