Wasnt sure what to put as the title there but after reading a few of the other threads, the transfer one as always and the one talkin about Rafa and his team building etc... just wanted to say that Im feeling pretty good about things at the moment. I'm not talkin about us all jumping up and sayin the usual at the start of every season. What I am saying is that it feels like we're going ni the right direction... there is a topic there asking what we'd be happy with next season etc etc but I want to know is are ya happy now. Personally I think it's great to finally see some of the younger players that rafa and his staff brought in, actually making a push for a start or 2 next season. If the fans arent so happy with finishing 4th again next season then one or 2 of those players coming through might well save Rafa his job... that's my opinion anyway, even if i wouldnt even dream of sacking the man. I simply compare his time in charge with Evans and Houllier's time and think that things are a lot better than people give Rafa credit for. Unfortunately Rafa is in the position where people think that since we are still finishing 4th , that we are going nowhere. The premiership has become utterly dominant, to the point where the euros are getting worried about it becoming a monopoly... it is managers like Rafa that have made english football as great as it is now. Looking back to say, 10 years ago... you'd have been more afraid of meeting the likes of juve in the CL than you would any english side right? and that went for other continental teams but now to be quite honest, I think we'd beat any other team in europe before we'd beat one of the other 3. The fact that we are now one of the most feared teams in all of europe tells me to f***ing smile.

I'm Irish so i've been brainwashed to 'like celtic' however there are loads of celtic fans over here and loads in that place in scotland too! .... but to be honest, the serious celtic fans here hate english teams and go around with Eire 32 badly tatoo'd on them.... So Barry will be going for a medical soon. it is only after the signing of keane that I really do see why we have to sign Barry also. This business of arsenal being willing to pay only 10.8 mil for Alonso really gets me though... we'd be getting rid of a top player for f***ing nothing. the owners have clearly lied about the amount of cash available for transfers (a good thing) though as it now looks like we will be buying again before we sell... if we sell. barry will certainly be expensive and I really hope things work out as he will be a gamble... the signing of keane and Barry wont bring us any closer unless their strengths are used properply within the team, game in and out etc... I do trust Rafa to get it right tho and he has clearly signaled these guys out as his first choice options as we've been after them both for some time... so ya, it's all good.

the owners are clearly short of cash. Since they've arrived we've signed 2 players for 20 m plus, even if this money was largely built up from selling some fringe members of the squad, then at least they let rafa spend it how he wanted to. As long as they are willing to act in a more professional manner from here on in and continue to work with Rafa and not against him thne i don't have any massive problems with them. I'm still far from happy about the problems they caused last season so I am wary but until they give me another reason to be up in arms then im gonna focus my attention on the field.
