Things is... Reina would be part of that too. it would be as a result of a clear lack of ambition... and that's exactly what it is. Wages do not need to be trimmed if you're looking to improve in the short term.... but our long term plan would be much much more difficult as in the next few years, we'll have no Reina, Torres, Carra, Agger or Gerrard. For me, Gerrard is the key. whatever we do, we must keep him.. he may be 30 but he's not too old to build a team around again... but intentions must be set... if players are going to go, then new ones must come in that are of quality... N'Zogbia? you're joking me. also Cole needs game time.. lots of it. He's a fantastic bloody player, guys he's just rusty.... very very rusty. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know I'm going to get blasted for this but it's just a thought... Since the board are not likely to fire Hodgson.. and with Roy Keane's position looking unattainable (I give him a few weeks max)... I think the club could do with a shot in the arm by appointing Keane as assistant manager. I'm Irish so yes I am biased. Thing is, many of you guys on't know it but most of the Irish people don't like Roy Keane.. For what happened in the 2002 world cup. Thing is, I think everything he did in that WC was justifiable myself as the man is driven and professional. He was one of the best motivators the game has ever seen (on the pitch)... tactically he is not there yet and he clearly struggles with teams that play in the need to not lose (the man is a winner)... Motivationally though I think Roy Keane could be our best and only option at the moment. no flaming please... but I would be interested to hear critical feed back
