agreed. Babel was a serious show of ambition. He was wanted by many of the other big clubs around europe but we got him. he didn't work out... Babel was signed on the basis that he had a lot of potential. Potential that never came to fruit but that's how it goes.. I hope the club continue to invest big money in prospect.

it may be hypocritical or it may also be you admitting that you were wrong 6 months ago. thing is though, do you really think that Rafa just became a bad manager in the last year or 2?? Of course he hasn't.. Rafa was underminded by the americans while he was here and then at Inter he wasn't backed. Inter are a team who are running on fumes.. Mourinho managed to get the best out of an aging side... he leaves on a supermassive high, Rafa takes over and the players are 1 year older. They can at absolute best hope to MATCH the previous season.... How the hell do you come in as a new manager and hope to achieve that? If we don;t take Rafa, Man city will.

I agree , they are absolute legends. They are only players though... Rafa was their boss. I don't know if they influenced his departure, I don't think they needed to really.. many of the fans wanted Rafa gone and that was good enough for the Americans as they hated his guts towards the end. I am not sure what my overall opion on things is to be honest... We have got to be the most f***ed around group of fans over the last few years.. We're forgettign what it's like to be one of the 'big 4' .. or playing in a semi final of the CL and thinking.. ah ya, I expected us to get this far. I think we're constanty looking for bads guys.. I even see our new owners coming under some shelling soon as their patience will be seen as a lack of ambition. Liverpool fans at the moment, have nothing. We have absolutely nothing positive going on at the club and it's eating at us. The one possibly good thing I can hoper for is that with our director of football.. Hodgson may have less of a say in who gets signed now.. and they may in fact spend big in january with an eye on a proper manager using these players in a few months or next season...

there will be a minimum of 4 added minutes.... I am a massive fan of Rafa and with my knowledge of the club having been a fan throughout the years, I see Rafa coming back as the only option. Now, having said that... from the various things I've heard, Rafa may not be the best man to work under.. but the thing is, I don't care. Rafa improved our club immensley in his time here and if Gerrard/Carra were to be an obstacle for rafa's return, I would probably have to say good bye to both of them. However, I thinkt he fact that we have a director of sport (whatever title you put on it).. I thinkt hat would be the main stumbling point of Rafa returning. Gerrard and Carra would just have to shut up and play... or leave.

No, we can't start thinking like this... waiting for the new owners to act like the previous ones... I for one cant take another couple of years of hating elements of our own club. I think one way or the other NESV will get us back on track.... how? I don't know, or when.... but I don't think it's healthy to compare them to Hicks.

I don't think they've broken any rules so it's the FA who are at least partially to blame... I think we should have been handed the oppurtunity to play the game at anfield.

Unfortunately i think Rafa has been lined up to take over at the end of the season... i know many of you thinkt hat is a good thing.. well, id like us to get into europe and hold our stars this season.. however with Carra and Stevie apparently not wanting Rafa back, I would see neither of them being at the club when he returns.... Ive got mixed feelings at this thoughtt... they are all icons for me and if I were to do a Rafa, I would say that they were like matching furniture in my living room..... for me they always went together but I guess it seems that wasnt so... If I were to make the call thopugh... I would have to say that id stand behind the manager. Im not one of the new gerrard/carra haters at all... (whereever the f*** they came from) but I do think that a player has to speak only when he's standing on the green.

Speaking as someone who is against Hodgson being our manager and more importantly, someone who thinks Rafa should never have gone... I have decided something. Probably a sign of madness here but... I'm going to support the team and the manager completely for the next 2 games. I'm hoping for a minimum of 4 points from the 6. I'm gonna TRY my hardest to put the constant s*** we seem to get at this club behind me in the next week or 2. I really hope tomorrows game goes ahead as I am strangely looking forward to it.... As I said maybe it's madness, maybe it's the christmas spirit (and no I havent started drinkin yet ).... anyway guys YNWA and Merry Christmas all!

Honestly, I think there are a section of our fans who are turning into bitters. Admittedly it is bloody difficult to be at all positive these days but it almost seems to me like some people would prefer to tear away at our own club since we've nothing else to do/hope for. Bitter about the american ownership, continued on with Hodgson... now.. just bitter.

I'm sure Hodgson will put out a good team that'll be able to stay behidn the ball and contain Rafa's side long enough to get a well earned draw. anyway guys. You could easily be talking about Germany in 1937 here. Rafa isn't a power crazed loon. He's a very dedicated tactician. I'm sure the NESV crowd are reasonable people and will give Rafa a look if they see a reaction from the fans... otherwise there is absolutely no hope that they would want to return to a man deemed as a failure. They WILL have to see a reaction from us though... If you accept mediocrity, you get it.

This is the kinda attitude our players probably when they play league matches... but that attitude gets you nowhere. Im not saying yer being unrealistic... Im just saying... we SHOULD get carried away. we shouldn't let this issue go.
