Robbie got the first (and sometimes only) goal in 5 matches in the 2nd half of the 05/06 season - I'd say that's plenty for the 3rd or 4th choice striker.
I'm not watching so I might be wrong, but from the sound of the official coverage, Mascherano's having a bit of a nightmare in the giving-the-ball-away stakes.
Gerrard scores a header and Davy Fairclough has a senior moment on the offical coverage: "I can't remember a Gerrard header in Europe" - left at half time in Istanbul then David? Scary thing is he's roughly the same age as me...
Depends. The team needs Alonso more than Mascherano but IMO Alonso needs the rest more than Mascherano. Unless I'm wrong Alonso must be up very near the top in minutes played this season.
On the TV it looked like he did his ankle more than his knee. Anyway, speedy recovery Martin and good luck subbing for him to Agger - can't really see Rafa going for a Carragher / Hyypiä combo...
You obviously thought this through, I'll give you that. I don't agree though, I happen to think Gerrard's starting position should be in the centre to give him the freedom to go right or left. TBH I have no idea where that leaves Keane, but then that transfer never made much sense to me.
So where exactly would Owen fit into the team? Keane replacement? Torres replacement? Kuyt replacement? IMO we need Owen about as much as Freddie Flintoff.
and on Harry Kewell IMO. He might have had fitness problems and he's certainly guilty of one of the dodgiest hairdos in a red shirt this century, but dross - no he wasn't.
