Not going to work - he won't get enough games to be a regular whipping boy. I'd nominate Degen or Arbeloa, Dossena is also in with a shout especially since he'll be keeping Insua aka the new Roberto Carlos out of the team if he does play.

Not saying that Torres is on the same level as Ferdinand & co, but I'd bet he spoke through an interpreter which probably makes him sound better than he might in Spanish.

Is the correct answer. They invested massively after not qualifying for the Champions League, they are absolutely not going to let their best player go before he even played one CL game for them.

My favorites are the 1-0 against West Ham at home for its sheer unstoppability and technique - the CB is right on him as tight as he can but Torres still scores - and the one against Fulham for the surprise factor. Normally you go c'mon - c'mon - c'mon - YEESSSSSSSS but in this case it was more c'mon - c'mon - oh he scored - YEESSSSSSSS!
