  1. I want Skrtel and Mignolet gone. If we can find a better first choice left back I'd sell Moreno also. Obviously if we can shift the likes of Balotelli and Alberto and get some money for them that would be good.

    Martin Skrtel

Skrtel is a liability. Even when he's playing well by his standards you still know he can make a stupid error at any moment. He has never read the game well. He is indecisive and hesitant and his mistakes are often costly as per the stats about mistakes that led directly to a goal. I appreciate he does his best but he doesn't have what it takes to be a top class defender.
  3. Thought there was at least three occasions last night where Mignolet could have came for a cross (relatively easy ones where the area wasn't crowded and the cross was not driven in hard) that would have calmed things down and made it easier for the defence. In the end he didn't attempt to come for any of them. He really infuriates me with his lack of courage.
  4. Utterly ridiculous to charge us for illicit chants but not them.
  5. Glad to see him getting his mojo back just when we needed him. He had a great game.
  6. I think Klopp will know by now if he expects Moreno to improve defensively to an acceptable level or not. If he has any doubts, and a better alternative is available, we should be able to sell him back to a Spanish club without making a loss. Moreno is a good footballer but his defending is poor. He loses concentration and gets caught our of position and makes daft challenges. If Klopp and his team think we can upgrade, I wouldn't be against it.
  7. I had completely written him off but I'm happy that he has proven me wrong. He has looked a different player since Klopp arrived. Our defence is starting to look reasonably solid over the last 6 or so games also.
  8. He could have made a huge impact as a sub for another couple of years. I doubt he would have been happy to have that sort of role though. I think he genuinely believed he still had sufficient stamina to be starting games but I think his physical level had dropped too much. He was not great in the holding role and I'm not sure he would have been great in defence either. His best role was still that of supporting the attack but he didn't have the legs to play full games in that position.
  9. FSG have done well to reduce the debt and generate new revenue streams. There's no doubt that being in a healthy financial position is very important to the health and future of the club. It's clear their decisions on the football side have not all been good. Recruitment has been very poor and money has been wasted. When was the last time we found a really good player at a relatively low price like Mahrez or Payet or a Hyppia? Contrast that with how many times we have seriously overpaid for average players. We could do with a proper CEO that knows the football world inside out.
  10. Smicer.
  11. I thought Henderson was very poor again, and while I sympathise with him being injured, it isn't helping the teams performance. Milner was not great but not too bad either. He reminds me of Kuyt with his workrate, but he could do with a bit more quality. Emre Can started off poorly and grew into the game without making a huge impact. It's no surprise really that Klopp is targeting midfielders for next season. Sturridge is not back to his best. I did think he was coming deep too often, but it must have been a tactic to draw out the City defence that didn't work. He has never been great in terms of strength and yesterday he was muscled off the ball in almost all his duels which was frustrating. If he was at his best he would have skipped away from some of those challenges and maybe created something for himself. Hopefully he regains his sharpness soon. Finally, I agree with Carragher that Moreno and Mignolet need to be moved on. They are not good enough for Liverpool and make too many costly mistakes.
  12. Lucas Clyne Can Really can't understand votes for Mignolet. Making saves are what he is there to do. He gifted them the lead, giving us an uphill battle. Another serious clanger to add to the ever growing collection.
  13. I don't think there is anything a keeper can do to make up for a pathetic mistake like that. Doesn't matter how many good saves he made after. Letting that goal in is an absolute howler. He's doing that kind of thing semi regularly now. We need to get rid of him.
  14. I'm feeling crap with a flu here. I have a good feeling about the match though. 3-1 to Liverpool. Coutinho and Firmino to score.
  15. I don't think you can say it's weak management. They underestimated Liverpool fans resolve and learned not to do that. So much of their strategy has been poor because they focus too much on the financial side first and football decisions second. With the new TV deal, they need to start taking some risks in order to be successful. If they get the football decisions right the revenues will increase in time also. Work on rebuilding our scouting network now and then back the manager in the summer.
  16. Ref gave them everything tonight. Their forwards were diving a lot also. So frustrating to lose like that when we surely would have won the shootout.
  17. A front three of Ward, Bogdan and Mignolet. Revolutionary! Damn, beaten to it.
  18. No one knows for sure how serious his injuries have been. Even if he is a wuss, he wouldn't like what the manager and lots of our ex-players have been saying. I'm not against selling him, given how often he is injured but the club should have been more supportive of him in public. If we lose him without getting a good fee or have months of acrimony and allegations being banded around, that's not good.
  19. It's understandable that people have their doubts about him, but people publicly questioning his attitude and professionalism was always going to offend him. I expect he will leave in the summer.
  20. We've done that to a fair few players, and we are not alone in that respect. A lot of big clubs snap up the best youngsters and then don't give them the playing time they need to develop. Finding the right loan move for these kids can be difficult also.
  21. I think it was an improvement on his display against Exeter where he scored. He created at least two clearcut chances and had a couple of shots of target also. He was in a good position to score also that time that Benteke didn't pass to him. He was probably our most threatening attacking player on the night. He is a slight player, but so is coutinho and many other attacking players. I doubt he has done enough to displace one of the senior players, but he has done enough to warrant another chance. Any player wanting to make a breakthrough in an attacking position has to sometimes do something special to earn it, then again if he had played with Sturridge, Ings or Origi last night he might have had a couple of assists. If Teixeira doesn't make it here, I still think he will play at this level and have a successful career.
  22. Brannagan Teixeira Clyne
  23. He did very well. If he keeps coming out and punching crosses away when he needs to that makes him much better than he has been. He may still make it here.
  24. Hard to argue with that compelling logic. Well done.
