He looks a far better player on the right when we have Finnan playing behind him, he is less likely to worry about defensive duties when Finnan is there to back him up. Last week when Kromkamp was our right back Stevie's starting position was a lot deeper and when he did go rampaging Krompkamp looked over exposed. Yesterday West Ham played pretty much with 5 in midfield which left Xabi and Stevie out numbered a lot of the time due to Pennant and Garcia wanting to get forward at every oppurchancity. If Gerrard played in any position there is a good chance he would still stick out, ie ended up right back in Istanbul.
