Marseille in October Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has complained that Rafa Benitez has forced him out of Anfield after agreeing a loan move to Marseille. The France international has endured a miserable time since the close of last season as a broken leg saw him ruled out of the World Cup and now, contrary to his wishes, he is on his way out of Liverpool. Cisse was brought to Liverpool by then manager Gerard Houllier but under the tenure of Benitez he has never established himself as a first choice. While reiterating his desire to stay on Merseyside, Cisse concedes that he had no alternative but to seek pastures new having been handed a stark ultimatum from the former Valencia boss. "It was a big surprise to me when I got a phone call from Benitez saying I should leave," Cisse told the News of the World. "He told me bluntly: 'There's no room for you here.' I was so upset because I don't want to leave Anfield. "After that conversation, I have no alternative but to try to find another club at least for now. "So I have agreed to go to Marseille in October when I am fit again, but only on loan. "I want the Liverpool fans to know the truth. They have made me so welcome and been very supportive. "I want them to know it is not my choice to leave Liverpool."
