  1. The great counters were 100% down to the fact that Terry & Upson went forward for freekicks that the fat t*** blasted straight at the wall, basically making them play catch up from the moment he lined it up, Yes he hit the bar with one attempt today but every other attempt has been row Z or the wall, committing all but Johnson forward for his free kicks is suicide and today we paid the ultimate price There's a stack of other problems but we've been there already
  2. Lino on edge of box looking for offside, as he should be
  3. Given the fact that we're skint, we'll probably get Ricki Herbert, he's paid NZD200k by his club and NZD50k by the country, less than GBP125k, and that's per annum before you ask
  4. Hard to pick that up even with the replays (only one of the three angles showed it), no way the linesman saw it as there was little to no deviation. Anyway slightly cancelled out by the penalty, De Rossi went down like he was shot and he'd have to have been another two foot taller to have got to the ball How many times did they crumple in a heap at the slightest touch, every time they got a free kick as well rather than told to get off their ar$e and get on with it
  5. Especially considering the ref gave them nothing all game, (more FIFA influence??!!)
  6. Remarkable act from a remarkable man, thank you for being part of our club Legend
  7. What's Scolari up to? Does Big Phil have a big enough name?
  8. Whoever comes in is on a hiding to nothing until the ownership problem is sorted. As has been said certain sections of our support would turn on Kenny if he is appointed "caretaker" and it didn't work. As unforgiveable as that would be it will happen. For that reason alone I wouldn't appoint Kenny. I would suggest an alternative in Thommo who did a good job during Houllier's absence, and has the history with the club that people seem to be looking for Of course if the owners leave then the picture changes dramatically, maybe a clean slate is what the new owners have asked for....
  9. sorry meant first crack at Anelka, we can't force him to come back, and if we can sign Cole who is out of contract I wouldn't object to losing Yossi if that was the return
  10. If he wants to go there we'll have first dibs on Cole who is on a free and Anelka. Decent enough swap for me
  11. Sick of seeing all these Manc tw*ts coming out in the press saying we'll be too proud to rollover, if we lose it'll be because we don't have our first team on the pitch and the players that are out there will be knackered, oh the Chelsea team is actually alright and have been scoring for fun this season Incidentally I hope the Manc reserves masquerading as Sunderland put up a decent fight, or someone might suggest that they rolled over
  12. As much as people dislike Jose, I'm not too keen myself, but if he gave us an eight year unbeaten home run, I think I could learn to like him He'd still be a c*** but he'd be our c***
  13. Almost as absurd as only rewarding Arteta with a yellow for poking Pedersen in the eye
  14. Given the supposed quality of the treatment he was receiving, maybe it was decided to bring him here for a year of decent treatment rather than sign him next summer and wait for the decent treatment to kick in.... an expensive idea but if they thought he was as good as people make out
  15. North Queenslan Fury six games into their first season, Phoenix in their third
  16. Phoenix line led by Chris Greenacre (released by Tranmere after being their top scorer last season) and Phil Ifill (released by Palace)... gives you an idea of the quality Fowler lone striker today, well marshalled by Phoenix defender Ben Sigmund, didn't have a chance really until the freekick at the death
  17. think he's got three or four so far and apart from a penalty the rest have been beauties Scored one today, albeit it in training, had the ball on the right in line with the six yard box, players in the middle expecting a cross so he looped it over the keeper into the top left corner...cheeky pr!ck
  18. probably the first time in his career when there's only been around a dozen people watch an open training session. Obviously most people in Wellington are more interested in tonight's rugby match between All Blacks and Australia, but it surprised me that there weren't more people out to see probably the biggest name in football behind Beckham to visit these shores. Hopefully get a bigger crowd than normal tomorrow for the game to honour one of our greats, the A-League needs to make the most of these opportunities At least the lack of people today meant I got both my Fowler shirt and autobiography signed
  19. Jon

    9/9/99

Didn't BB also state that Coca-Cola had replaced Carlsberg?? Could be happening now.....
  20. not before time
  21. G&H (and Purslow) are probably factoring in the cost of replacing the backroom staff into Rafa's net spend as well...

  24. bugger! beat me to it if he takes a few heads this season it will be two mill well spent
