Its a good piece that Observer one. Powerful stuff and I wish young fans would read this sort of thing. Pity that the vast majority of muppets that sing hateful songs have no idea about what really happened.

Not when the player in question (Eto'o) does it regularly for his current team and has done for a while. The front players at Barca interchange all the time and Eto'o is quite happy to drift out to the wide positions - Anelka and Drogba are not.

Eto'o is superb at bringing others into play. People seem to think because he's a single minded, selfish so and so off the pitch, he is the same on the pitch and that's simply not true.

£12m for Eto'o?? I'm sure the money men at Man City will be prepared to pay him that in annual wages let alone a transfer fee! There'll be a right scrum to get him at anywhere near that price, surely. If his head is right - he'd be a wonderful signing for us though.

That's probably about right I guess - around £3.7M. Not quite the £7M quoted in some quarters but not a bad return on a free.

Doesn't really sound like the words of a man about to pen a record sponsorship deal. Can't believe Bascombe's piece could be wrong though!

Eto'o would be great in any one of the attacking positions - he is obviously an excellent scorer but is also a very good passer and can link the play. He is also a very hard worker on the pitch. The only drawbacks are related to his behaviour off the pitch.

Well i think we all know that if the player really decides he wants to go somewhere he can usually push it through so he could have gone somewhere else and it was an odd he ended at Bayern really. Was it only £17m they paid for him - that's a steal really given the silly money being talked about for other players.
