I’ve heard it said that the first pen decision doesn’t matter as the penalty was saved but this ignores the fact that the Karius said that they had seen that Kane often went down the middle in big games and that’s why he stayed up and was able to make the save. Odds are that if that first pen hadn’t been given Kane would have been going down the middle for the what was the second one, Karius would have been executing his plan, penalty saved and 2-1 win to us.
