You'd prefer Wirtz over Trent though if we're facing a low block defence. Trent was great when we needed to counter attack, he got Salah and others into great positiions. He'd still be great in this Liverpool team. Wirtz needs a striker or 2 on his wavelength. There have been multiple defence splitting passes that weren't picked up on by anyone. Some to be fair where passes to nowhere, but quite a few were decent opportunities had they been anticipated.

I was once told by a very wise man, ok ok it was KAMF, that you shouldn’t worry about where they will play, what the best XI is. It’s about having options. Given our injury & fitness problems this season “how will they fit into the first XI when they’re all fit” sounds like a nice problem to have. Getting XI fit players on the pitch has been a struggle.

Yeah, it doesnt make sense. Couple that with other players in the squad looking much worse than last season and it doens't look like an isolated Isak issue, but rather a larger Liverpool issue. Hopefully the manager is back on track, things get fixed, and the Konates, Maccas, Salahs, VVD's and Isaks of this world find their form.

(World) International Football is a corrupt s***space. First there was Blatter, now there's Infantino. It seems to draw the most morally abject humans into its leadership. It's basically one big organisation that thrives on money from s***hole nations that pay to have their s***hole countries host the affair, in order to make them look good, whilst drawing as much money as possible out of paying fans. Nations should tell FIFA to go do one and if i do watch it's going to be on some illegal stream where there's no advertising money going to support this enornmous misadventure.
