I'm all for dropping Konate, except there's no one properly available to replace him. Gomez maybe, but he's only been available the last few weeks and he's been needed at RB as well. So it's either Konate, or playing midfielders or youngsters at CB or RB. To add to this, Slot has gotten a lot of criticism from fans for playing Rio ahead of Gakpo (how can you bring a youngster into a team as mentally fragile as we are!) or a midfielder at RB (we need Dom in the middle! Jones cant play RB!). Whatever he's doing fans wont be happy.

Alonso would be a better choice than Glasner of Iraola. Won a league title and is a red. I'm still not fully on board the firing of Slot, Ant's post actually makes a lot of sense. We had 2 subs left and our bench was: Endo, Isak, Mama, Robertson, Chiesa, Salah, Rio. So if you're subbing off Konate it's Joe at CB and Endo or Andy at RB? Dom at RB again? It's not like there's a wealth of options at CB.

Of course, if Jota’s death weighs heavily on players minds as was implied in the Boullarouz interview then a lot less of this is on Slot and just replacing the manager wont have the impact we hope. I’m not saying it is, I have no experience. It didn’t sound implausible though.

Yeah, those 2 are the ones to bet on. Iraola has the downside that his team does a lot of running and pressing and our players seem to not be able to. Will he get the most out of Wirtz and Isak, whose strengths don’t appear to be physical? If Glasner brings Geuhi with him that’s probably my preferred option.

He has got palace playing well, that’s for sure. The formation is a worry for me. Either he sticks to it like Amorim and we’re struggling with picking defenders. Or he changes it and is managing players in a system he’s less familiar with. Also with him never having coached at the highest level there’s a bigger risk at how he’ll adapt in a bigger team. he definitely deserves a chance at a bigger team though.

The negatives: he’s been at palace a year and taken them from 10 to 12fh in the league. He likes a back 3 and we’re struggling to play 2 centre backs. How can we play 3-.4-3?
