  1. I’m starting to wonder if he has the killer instinct to play as a forward and would be more suited as one of the midfield 3.
  2. The (available) squad is worse than last season. The coaching/managing is worse than last season. Both things can be true at the same. We should be doing better with what we have, but last season we had better players.
  3. I think the spend is a bit of a red herring. If you take the net spend (how much did we really improve) remove Isak who has not been available and take into account VVD and Salah playing as they are it’s clear our squad is weaker than it was last season. you can’t account for a season ending injury to your star player and you can’t prevent 33/34 year olds declining. our squad is worse than last season and it’s not the managers fault.
  4. Well they’re used to watching s***e week in week out, different standards.
  5. A fraud - to me is a description of character, something permanent. Suggesting he never should haven been manager in the first place. I think that’s disrespectful and wrong. He’s won the league FFS. clueless and having lost the plot - to me those are temporary/state of mind. Not being able to solve the current problem. It’s not hard to see where that criticism comes from. I think only the first is a permanent stain on his character, yeah I’d call that vitriolic. The other two are disrespectful, but I wouldn’t say over the top, let alone vitriolic.
  6. None taken! It was funnily put and pips “when people have calmed down” response was spot on
  7. Fair enough!
  8. There have been a few “f*** offs” which I think is over the top towards a league winning manager, most in match threads/spur of the moment though.
  9. I reckon any manager worth his salt has an outlook on how to play football, an approach to the game they want to bring. I don’t know what the Hughes/Edwards model is. They haven’t communicated it in the press. The signings made last summer, good as they were, don’t seem to fit the gegenpressing system of the previous years. The way we’re playing this season is also different to the previous years, at a much lower intensity. i think any manager interviewing definitely should state how they want to play and if that approach fits into what the DoF ( or however you want to call EdHughes) vision. I wouldn’t want a manager that believes in 3-4-3 being forced to play 4-3-3. Better get that out of the way in the selection process.
  10. We’d need Alonso and 100m+ to spend in the window cause no way his 3 at the back formation works with our squad. if we do sign the centre backs then I think Frimpong, Kerkez, Wirtz and Ekitike will all benefit from the system. The midfielders should be fine. Might nog suit Salah, but his old wide-right spot is not working for him either this season.
  11. City need to be kicked out of football so hard they fly past the moon on the way to the sun.
  12. If he’d resigned sooner VVD and Mo would still be in their prime in Slots second season!
  13. It feels like the end of Slot, but sadly, also the end of Virgil and Mo. Andy is leaving too. Next season's Liverpool could be anything.
  14. not sure why NR is downvoting that after basically saying VVD is responsible for 3 goals
  15. how did no one get on the end of that ball from mo
  16. think he's doing us a favour by giving a goalkick to be honest
  17. on paper emlyn hughes is in with a shout, though i guess only murph has seen him play
  18. he only joined in 2004, he's still wet behind the ears
  19. yeah that's just mad. you look at those names and think they'd start every game all season
  20. There's not much in it between us, City, United and Arsenal. There should be opportunities to increase our commercial revenue, it's behind United and the cheats and way behind Barca and Real. It's a shame we have an annual 40m gap in matchday revenues with the Mancs, that's what 15k extra seats would give you.
  21. if Nunez could stay onside and finish his chances, everything else was brilliant.
  22. I think he’s physically and technically very good, but he misses the drive and determination that top class players have. if he had Henderson’s mentality he’d be a world beater.
