Though perhaps some people are more prone to criticizing others straight away and some people are more prone to reserving judgement and trying to understand why things are not going as well as they could/should. i think you can. City & Chelsea have spent double that and have tens of decent looking youngsters around. Our squad is understandably worse. The big signings haven't shown up yet, there is that. what do you mean by that bit?

The half a billion figure annoys me. It suggests our spending is high & our squad should be good. City, Chelsea and others have spent much much more over the past 5 years and created massively deep squads. We spent barely anything in the last 5ish years to build for the future. We haven't bought a lineup of talented youngsters to replace Van Dijk, Salah. This "half a billion" has basically been to replace players who have left. When you look at our benches this season they haven't been deep. We haven't spent anything near the rich teams over the past 5/10 years and that's reflected in the depth of our squad. When players are out of form or out of shape we suffer.

We don't even have three at the back. Three at the back is sticking Konate (not good) and Gomez (not fit) on the pitch without any backup. I'd much rather we find a magic one at the back formation and play Virg on is own.

Small club jokes aside, the mancs have rightly or wrongly shown incredible patience with Amorim
