No further extensions doesn't seem that big a deal, tbh. The loan was written with the caveat of an extension. One extension. So that means that a new loan will need to be negotiated which suits the banks and maybe even G&H. Maybe the next loan will include money for a new stadium rather than a seperate loan. Who knows. As long as G&H stump up their portion of the guarantees, the banks will do business with them. Provided they've met their interest payments and there's nothing that has been printed by the media that they haven't. The gossip is that the banks want a lot more in guarantees than what G&H want to use. Come July 24th we'll find out. G&H are willing to sell but at or near their price. So we're right where we were.

He states the obvious though. We're also top with the squad we have. Torres scored 33 goals last season, this season--5. We don't need new players. We need the ones out of action to get fit. Better signings will happen in the summer as they always do because top players are CL Cup tied anyway.

Back on topic. Insua did very well. Even Gerrard passed to him. Still think Rafa will bring him along slowly. But he's going to be our #1 LB in the next few years.

I think Insua will be a tidy left back and even a backup at LM. But don't we already have one of the tightest defenses around. Rgardless of who's played LB or RB, even Carra was given a go at RB, we still concede few goals. So I think some supporters are looking for perfection from each position. Dossena isn't as bad as some make out. Even defensively. He's saved us a few times and yes he's been beat for pace a few times as well. But as a unit we're fine.

Darby might make the grade or at least be a solid backup. El Zhar might as well. Martin Kelly, if he doesn't get restless and want ( demand) first team action. Will probably go on loan first. But central defenders usually take longer.

Sorry to jump in late on your questioning of Rafa and his subs. As others have mentioned Rafa substitutions made sense. Changing the wide players because that is where our best attacks came from. Putting Keane on would only congest the middle if Kuyt stayed on as well. One seems to overlook the fact that Brown had Hull City compact with their defenders and midfielders dropping back. They stayed compact to the 18 yard box. Which is why the wide areas were there for us to expose. Hence Rafa's choice of replacing the tiring wide men with fresh legs. As for Lucas for Mascherano. This too made sense. First it allowed Lucas to go forward, something Mascherano does precious little of because he knows his role is the defensive part of defensive midfielder. Second, Mascherano was on a yellow and one more tackle away from a second yellow and a red card.. The last thing we needed was Mascherano to be sent off when chasing the win. There is no conspiracy when it comes to why wasn't Keane used. Just pure footballing reasons.

Not to mention Tevez's agent....happens to be the advisor to the Owner of Man City. It's a funny ol' game.

For arguments sake let's say your right. Come next July no bank will loan G&H any money and RBS and Wachovia call in their loan. So G&H sell all the above and make what yuo claim. As our loan is approximately £350 mil, where does the other £200 mil come from? Then people don't go to matches, so match day revenue is down. people boycott the shops, merchandizing is down. As Ant say, they aren't stupid. They may be greedy but they aren't stupid. Which is why they won't sell Gerrard, Torres, et all. And the club won't go into administration. Bolton played a bit better after the half when Megson brought Gardner on. I'm sure Megson would have done this level at halftime, no? I think Plessis was doing ok until Riley carded him. Then he looked like he didn't want to get stuck in for fear of being sent off. Maybe with experience he'll know how much he can push things with the ref after a yellow. But had he been sent off..oh boy.

This site goes down from time to time for maintenance. Just because an address works now, does not mean it worked yesterday or in the time frame tim was trying to contact SL. Afterall, from all of tim's posts over the years, we know he lies. I think the benefit of the doubt should go to tim. Supporters can ask questions and not get an answer. I emailed SOS months ago, never even got a bog standard email back we'll take into consideration your email and get back to you. However, it is a volunteer organization who wants more members. Based on my experience does it mean that if I join they'll answer my emails because i can put my memberhsip number as a reference? Or that I need to show up and find someone in a pub to have a chat with? Maybe they are overwhelmed but at least reply we got your email.
