If we can Wharton for McAllister that may be digestible. wingers and center back though. Get that happening.

Be nice to have a break for a couple of weeks now. Can’t wait to see the change in style. Looking forward to seeing full backs staying wide and going overlaps. Frimpong and kerkez are built for that. our sitting two as grav or Mac, with dom as the 8. Wirtz with Rio one side, and Isak in front. signings to make a difference of course but if we can get what we functioning, then the additions would find it easier to integrate. Then we get to see Danns, Leoni, even Abe.

It’s silly that Chelsea continue to do this. issue is, other teams keep digging them out by over paying for cast offs. Villa did well, with their signings.

I think I’d prioritise rayan for the right. If we get Barcola too, great. id negotiate a 12/24 month extension with jones and Elliott. They have a decent season, sell next summer.

Arsenal have eze, martinelli, madueke and saka for their wide spots.

Love our Mac. Now robbo gone, does he become the native Scot? The name must have Scottish heritage cant judge him on last season. No one performed with slot ball. a 2-3 year extension would be ideal if we can.

We need to plan ahead. Possibly Virgil and Ali last season here. Vice captain needs to be next in line. hopefully others step up to be leaders too. Not enough, looking across the group.

Dom signs new contract. grav dom and Wirtz first choice 6,8 and 10? hopefully we keep Mac and jones too. Would be solid pool. Maybe a specialist 6 would nice.

He’s on a free isn’t he? Worth bringing in if wages aren’t too bad.

Not expecting that to be team against Newcastle. but we’ve got more players back than most already, with more to come, meaning we get a jump on the structure of the team and the last ones can slot in.

Contract renewals worry me. We’ve never been great at it as it is. i agree with not renewing Hughes and Edwards and obviously slot. its a knife edge - our next 6 weeks could define the next 3 years. Sign a quality winger, 6 and centre back and the whole view changes.

I think Barcola is advanced, after World Cup there will be an outcome and then we either get him or our next choice. depending on that, the budget is available for the rest.

Don’t we have Rio gakpo Isak Munoz chiesa with ekitike to come and at least one new winger coming?

Ok not quite last minute. No one doing anything at the minute. and Edwards and Hughes haven’t done great. Not on signings, slot or renewals or sales. this is actually good decisions by the club. May be some short term pain.

No but it is us. I think we start with one signing and go from there. The whole walk and chew gum at the same time etc etc.

Well I was hoping someone here, but guess not.

If we’re looking at wolves, I’d prefer Mane as a squad option. 18, fast and quick feet.

Someone put it perfectly here - they were great at the time, time has since moved on and the advantages they created, no longer exist, and they couldn’t adapt to what it is today. nothing wrong with it, just happens. what we no next is much more important.

Well last couple of pages feels like summer chat.

Who’s getting chances this season? You’d think bacjetic assuming he’s fit. Danns? Nyoni? Those lads we signed in Jan? that first friendly will be interesting.

I think most of the squad are back now or soon anyway? Virgil with feet up is huge, as Isak Wirtz grav and so many. There are positives to have a culture and flow set from now with existing players and adjust in and then add the signings to that rhythm. First few weeks will be clunky, but no more than the other clubs with players still at World Cup. Also feels TOO quiet. I reckon loads is going on. Just a lot more discreet. And journo’s too busy watching World Cup to bother.

Mama, kerkez,Gomez, Jacquet, Leoni, Frimpong, Endo, jones, Elliott Dom is a pretty solid base to get the defensive shape right.

We massively underperformed with the quality of players we had last season. United over achieved with Carrick bounce and less games. interesting villa not in the mix. Been more in cl than United and spurs. i reckon we should expect 70 points with the squad as it is and signings can lift that more. im conditioned for a mixed start though and expect Nov/dec when we find our stride.

Yes he f***ed up a bit but we get 1-2 wide players, another centre back in and ideally a 6, we’ve transformed the squad entirely, lowered the age drastically and stayed in CL. we had the break up of the best time since the 80’s, being led by one of the greatest managers and we had a squad of late 20’s early 30’s, with not enough class young talent. yes should’ve canned slot earlier, yes we should’ve replaced Salah a year ago and replaced Diaz. Should’ve kept Elliott, Trent situation managed poorly etc. still feel it could’ve been worse. United or Arsenal worse (after Ferguson and Wenger respectively) I reckon Isak, Eki, Wirtz, Rio, Dom, grav, kerkez, Jacquet, Leoni, will all come good. Mac, Frimpong, mama, Bradley, gakpo, jones could all still playa part too. im choosing to be optimistic and not a fan of Hughes - can just see some of the good.

Ali can turn up a week before Newcastle. He’ll be right.
