I think that’s a little doom mongering. Wirtz, Dom, Mac, grav, kerkez, Frimpong, mama, Isak, Eti, Rio, Bradley, gakpo, jones - all good ages. Clearly we need center backs, wide players or wingers, and something needs to be done if we don’t have academy kids good enough for bench.

Could’ve brought back or kept Elliott. Could’ve played Ramsey right back. More minutes to Rio. Didn’t we buy a young g lad this window? Squad player - more minutes to Endo. fill out the bench with academy players - if we do happen to go 3-0 up throw one on. If not, the match day experience alone is worth it for future. conversely are we saying there are no academy players close to being on the bench for first team? Because that’s a bigger issue in itself.

These days changing the manager involves an army of people. Analysts, coaches etc. both in and out. the negotiation with Alonso back room staff, some may still be contracted to Madrid for example or not ready to go back in yet. Also slot seems like a good man. I can imagine them doing it respectfully all around, and him having a clean exit and handover, potentially seeing through the cl game and then announcing after that, giving Alonso a clean running start.

Really confused to still see him here. even down to the bench. Players are tired? Play some kids! Perfect game to start Rio and then bring on gakpo or Eti or whoever then. Ramsey could’ve come on. But it can and should do better than what we have. and neither head or any other coach from his team has changed anything to fix it. and he must be embarrassed too. Can’t be fun for him. Surprised he hasn’t offered to agree an exit. he got the title. Earned it. And am grateful. And some things didn’t go his way. It happens. It’s fine lines. Klopp should’ve won 3 titles and European cups. He didn’t. Rafa should’ve gotten at least 1 title. doesn’t always work out. It hasn’t.
