If we are playing with a 10, which we are, Wirtz is first choice for that. Dom is a first choice 8 and back up to Wirtz. Jones and Mac would be next 8’s and options. Those are the roles available. im not sure we need a specialist 6 either. We play 80% of our games on the front foot.

Kerkez, Dom, Eti, grav all been better. Mac was great last season. we should have played squad players more. Ramsey is one, Rio another. Chiesa too. Endo. Non are automatic starters. But easily could give minutes to, and save legs elsewhere. squad still light but not unexpected given numbers. Leoni was unfortunate. It happens. Isak was unlucky. Frimpong and Bradley too. All were bad luck. if manager could learn to manage minutes better and use squad better, I would be happier. for this season though, we’ve saved legs by choice or by chance, through injuries, moments and not running. We should end the season strongly and that should translate to performances. if we play like we should and can, consistently, makes sense to keep slot. Means he’s learned from his experiences this season. if we aren’t playing like 2027 champions by end of season, make the change.

Salah and gakpo the difference. Kerkez has quietly been good for a few games, great to see this one. would’ve liked kids in sooner but understand the rhythm element of first team. Given how much we’ve run in first half of season, we should be able to finish season strong.

I think he’s done. whether he leaves with head held high or through back door. doesn’t make him bad manager - just ran his race. a counter view to myself though: other clubs stumble when they rebuild because they can’t make hard choices and get stuck in a loop. Would United be better off if they had picked a manager and stuck with him for example?
