growler

It was first game under new manager, a tough away, Isak first game there, we haven’t completed the squad yet. The media pile on when city needed a late goal, United and spurs lost and Chelsea won by 1, against a poor Fulham. the media has turned on us, it’s the time when we need to stand up for our boys, not join in the kicking.

For anyone who loves the full moon time of the window, apparently we signing Tchoumeni for 100m… sigh…

I love how fans have done from give the players and manager a chance, until October, November, to giving one game. how about we give it a chance? I realise the twatterati are out in force, but maybe we can back the lads a little longer than first game. wirtz will be one of our stars.

Gakpo was likely out regardless. Tough last season for him, he’s not a 9 or a 10, so keeping him as cover for those is pointless.

Yep both frimpong and Bradley are homegrown anyway. fair point by some about the skill, effort and fit.

I’d take him back, providing he passes the sniff test. Is he contrite, does he want to work hard and need to step back up to his level, reasonable on wages and be grateful, rather than entitled. Could he be cover in middle and right back?

This is a good read. Minteh feels similar. https://x.com/liverpoolfooti/status/747219898271576065?s=46

Apparently Danns was impressive in recent game. Anyone got highlights - can’t find any.

Even in minteh is second choice, those have worked out well for us in the past.

Heard dubious link today (yep, all the way in Sydney). players are focused and quietly confident. Feel they have the quality and want to forget last season and if we get minteh mbaye and Barcola, Chiesa and gakpo would leave. I wasn’t convinced but guy claimed to know someone close to grav. Gave just a glimmer of hope, so thought to share, even if 1% chance.

Camera will be good - especially for our partnership with pixel.

Yet villa will now go and spend the money on the best players in other teams, across Europe. i think English teams are spoilt. Big 6 etc etc. look across the world. Which league has 6 teams that could even think about winning the title? Or share in the wealth like premier league does? and the rich owners - could do training ground, stadium, academy, hotels, women’s team. I’ll worry about rich owners when they do that. Newcastle started. Could be a worry if they do academy too. But Villa? Nothing.

Mbaye would qualify as home grown too, so can only assume it’s his entourage that’s an issue. unless they see minteh like mane at Southampton - will flourish in our team. chiesa surely leaves if these happen. Not enough spots is there?

I thought Munoz can play right and middle?

Let’s hope it’s hugely respectful for Keegan. and let’s hope it’s great for all, in his memory. and we win 4-3 for the nostalgia.

The pressing seems different too. I can see us defending higher up, whoever next to Virgil stepping into a pseudo 6.

Barcola will be on the left. Whether it’s minteh or mbaye impact will take time regardless.

He’d also provide that attitude we’ve been screaming out for.

Minteh counts as homegrown too, came through Newcastle academy? no mbaye then. Apparently his entourage are a headache… can’t take minteh’s stats as a reason. does he have the potential to give contribute 20? (10 goals 10 assists) and is he coachable?

It’s getting annoying now. 3 weeks of following up and staying ready, because I don’t want to miss out when news lands. And no I’m too far in, will have to keep checking until something happens. Stuck in a loop.

My issue wasn’t with slot not playing him. My issue was why put him on the bench at all. When your top 3 right backs are injured, you either play your fourth choice or don’t put him in the squad at all.

The firm is back. Saying Barcola is done, mbaye being negotiated to announce both together.

Going into the season expecting us to challenge for the title and European cup is setting yourself up for a tough season. yes of course we should be building to win titles. And yes the transfer team have f***ed this transition up. And yes even if we have a storming 10 days, it’ll be tough to expect it all to go right in the season. We have to trust that once that whistle goes, every player and coaching staff is going to do their best every minute. And we will support them. We expect the club to build the squad capable of winning titles. They failed. Let’s be realistic with the team and support the lads.

What’s your realistic outcome?
