Woodfine makes sense. Been around 14 years by all accounts. If he wants it, makes reasonable sense for him. key criteria should be youth coming through, top youth signed to augment academy, contract management and selling well, in addition to buying well.

I dunno. This whole having defenders who defend seems a bit new and edgy… I like it though.

Hughes made some bad calls - he let multiple assets leave on frees and didn’t get contracts signed, left lopsided squad, kept slot in seat too long and self congratulated. Didn’t sign enough of young talent, seeing the gap in the academy. And sold poorly. maybe we’ll look back more fondly in 18 months to 2 years? That new goal keeper, Jacquet, Leoni, arauljo and nduwke, kerkez learning how to defend, Barcola, Isak, Wirtz, ekitike, Rio all look high potential. clearly neglected midfield, and couldn’t do contract renewals and the right back situation is just bizarre. We didn’t pick up any talent from South America, missed the January window entirely his whole time here. he’s 2/5. Could be 3/5 if his signings work out longer term.
