My view is there’s no much left to be squeezed from supporters. next lift in value comes from rights, merchandise, partnerships etc. you don’t buy an elite sports team for profit. Be different if you bought lower league, but us? We’re a trophy. i can see the revenue growing quickly which would be good for us. i hope they don’t make us like city or united though where just rotate managers, break rules, break the culture of the club etc. fsg did great bringing in previous legends and those who understood the club. All so they could commercialise still, but was symbiotic. basically, if they help us win, the right way, and don’t screw us, it could be ok. If they become d****ead owners, we’ll just start moving on. I reckon we’re losing genuine fans every year anyway as the game overall becomes a cesspit
-
Glitches then screw it, ref decision.
-
I’m good with Barcola Rio mbaye Munoz Isak and ekitike as 3 from 6.
-
The whole game is screwed by money really. Players, refs, fan expectations, kick off times - what’s made it bearable is we have been a little less screwed and a little immune. Not sure when break point will come, it will eventually. Won’t be because one billionaire, sold to another billionaire after buying us from a couple of shysters who bought us from a local rich guy, who sold us down the river.

Doesn’t Elliot only have 1 year left as well? I think maybe he and jones do fund another midfielder.
-
The rules have rarely been the problem anyway. The ability to implement any of it the right way is. just cap a var decision to 45 seconds. If it can’t be made in that time, on field decision stands, move on.

Bezos owns more of other companies than he does Amazon, who themselves own a ton of brands. maybe won’t be Amazon, but will make it easier to get sponsors. be brilliant to have all the benefits, but like we used to say - they are there to sign the cheques. Never saw the need to have the owners at the game. Just put the money where it needs to go. Cheaper tickets, bigger kop, don’t be d****eads and don’t become Chelsea/city.

Sounds like mbaye and Barcola in gakpo and jones out. id still like a 6. Allows options in the middle. Can’t see it though, if we’re going with a midfield 2. Grav Mac dom nyoni maybe it for this season. got a good feeling about araujo and Munoz though.

Give a man enough rope… all comes down to next couple of weeks. Sign 2 wingers, all looks different. biggest risks are still gk and Virgil.

The counter balance is we had one of the best teams in the world. And no good reason to dismantle it. And it worked because they won the second title they deserved. Nunez didn’t work out and jota was tragic. I think the logic was wirtz and Isak was the replacement for Salah output. Rio to be one winger and buy another top class one. Grav dom Mac is a solid pool for midfield but could do with a 6. Konate and Trent screwed us. Kerkez was great left back and got a season with Robbo. Mama on paper was the right model (signed, doubles with Ali then takes over) not sure on his quality but approach was right. Frimpong was an attacking fullback and Bradley looked great. Leoni unlucky injury. Jacquet on paper a great buy. And araujo looks good too. we’ve rotated the squad a lot in last 2 years, and this is a tough cycle but I feel get a couple of good steps forward here, some great kids coming through, I think we could be in a really good spot. Not there yet of course. Lots to do as usual. But not crisis, assuming we finish window strong.

Yeah ignore who’s in charge. they’re gonna win regardless. Enjoy while we can. super league will come too. The super clubs are too big now.

The whole thing started with a rich guy tapping out because he couldn’t do more and got greedy. Moores is root cause. Could’ve sold to Dubai. Could’ve sold to a fan consortium. Instead took money. Then the shysters were the same. Wanted to be like the glazers. FSG for all their faults probably the best of the 3. We are in the era where the truest and closest of fans, those who give up most - matter the least. The volume of fans are more important. That’s up to us to ensure we retain the spirit of the club for as long as we can and enjoy however long we have left. A few years a few decades, whatever it is.

Twitter says he’s on strike to get move to us. thought it was rubbish as I thought it was the psg doue.
-
You’d think mbaye done then. Perhaps overpay a little? More generous with add ons?
-
That’s what I thought and wanted to believe. but Indy reckons things have gotten heated so who knows.
-
To be fair he hasn’t coached in about 18 months. Probably misses it.
-
I’d imagine if we could sell rights, we’d use LFC tv. Higher margin on doing it yourself. doesn’t bezos only own a small percentage of amazon now anyway? He’s not even ceo is he? we’ll hear the terms (value creation, margin optimisation and other bulls*** bingo). Unfortunately way of the game now. I’m glad I had the last 10 years of club being built. I don’t see how it gets fixed to the way fans want it, so just take what joy we can and ignore the rest. Whole industry is a cesspit.

Another day of nothing. it is actually bizarre. im genuinely curious what is going on? If you’re negotiating, surely you’re speaking every day. It’s your one job. So either not negotiating because it’s all agreed in principle and waiting for something (takeover, other signings etc) or it’s not happening? for balance no one seems to be buying at the moment either. it’s all gonna go nuts in the next 3 weeks.

Man they used to say be careful what you do online, even when drunk, the internet is forever… I still think they aren’t buying us for profit. We don’t make any. They’ll borrow against us, same as fsg. But won’t be a glazer type model where they buy us to take money out. if fsg are selling, what are the other options? There are no clean or good billionaires.
-
I think in reality these owners will make it easier. with the rules now they can’t buy us mbappe just because. Or drop in 300mil for wages. We’ve already built the machine a better way over last 15 years. No one is taking that away. these new investors - prefer these to the glazers. These are here for kudos - they only get that if we’re winning. the game went years ago. We were lucky to get the Klopp generation of building a real club back up. and if anything, I think this type of owner will be easier to keep our soul. Least I hope so. We’re at the top table. They’ll want us to stay there. and until someone comes along who’s from the city has 200billion and wants to spend 10 billion on owning his boyhood club, every owner will be a little worse than the previous as a character.
-
In terms of what’s out there to acquire us, it’s a pretty decent option. none are buying us for profit. There are easier and faster ways to make money. It’s a vanity thing. makes it ideal for us because you don’t buy Liverpool then run it like United or play like Arsenal. they’ll be bumps (always is) but our needs meet at the point everyone involved needs us to play well and be winning. wouldn’t say no to the other two sides of the stadium being expanded too.

Brazil football is at end now. what made them famous was Ronaldinho type players. Neymar wasn’t that. Vini definitely isn’t in either of those talent sphere. its like buying a previously well known brand now made cheap and sold on temu.
-
Do we think we waiting until we get new investors on board? If it is bezos, maybe we get new arrivals in a day.
-
Cheaper than 30 pieces not sure we’d get him for that. still, he’d be good for first part of the season, take a break when ekitike back, and be back for end of season.
