Great team performance, Kenny has us playing with such belief I can hardly believe it. Hard to pick out an individual performance, I love that , always a good sign. Feel I've got closure on Torres now. Still think he'll be their best player for the rest of the season...really cant see them winning anything though. 4th place is now totally realistic - that says it all about the King. f***ing made up - YNWA

Great idea! .... oh, it's fernando Torres

I'll always love Rafa, he's original, brave and genuinely fell in love with Liverpool . But we now have the perfect manager in place for this stage of our new era, whether he lasts beyond the summer or not. There'd have to be a confluence of pretty unusual developments before Rafa manages us again, I'd never say never on that front but meantime let him do all the press he likes, he's on our side. That would be great, but you know it'll be on ESPN and called Rafas Football Facts

Suarez mentioned Tevez himself, something like he's great at City my style similar and should suit English football

I reckon score draw. Their defence more solid than ours but we have Pepe. Torres will torment Skrtel and bang in at least one, and Suarez and Dirk will run rings around Terry. 2 all

Someones gonna have to take him to tusk over it

to Thin Lizzy Whisky in the Jar: As I was going over The Kop and Anny turnstiles I saw Andy Caroll With his frankly stupid hairstyle I first produced my scarf And then produced my seasie I said to Andy Caroll You make scoring look so easy Bang em in with your left and your right Score goals for Kenny-o Hat tricks for Liverpool Score goals past Van Der Sar

Like it. to Volare: Luis Suarez, woah-oh Luis Suarez, He is a red He'll scoff a slice of your brain He'll score again and again

The greatness or woefulness of the Carroll deal remains to be seen - it's a big expensive gamble, and that takes balls from both the owners and Kenny. I think most fans can appreciate the audaciousness of their dealings yesterday while withholding proper judgment on FSG for the summer, like you say. Hopefully we'll be forced to concede that they played a blinder sooner than that if Carroll performs and handles pressure, makes us not miss Torres.

Really excited about Suarez, seems to have everything it takes to be a success here. Love his big goofy grin too

This is insane. 35mill for Carroll - we've just done a MUFC, hope it works out. Adam will be done but I really cant see the Young deal happening........but....

I've figured it out. Torres is going to Chelsea to haul them back into title contention and scupper no 19 for the mancs. Has our best interests at heart after all

I somehow doubt if any player who is now rightly considered a legend, made their key career decisions based on the objective of attaining legend status. More likely their decisions were made on principles of loyalty, honour; even more prosaic reasons like environment, family etc... I guess my point is like the pointlessness of trying to be "cool", you dont try to be a legend for a football club.

Totally sick about this, and surprised at Torres. Stinks that it's Chelsea (or any Prem club) but they are his only suitors at this moment. Forgetting the pain and looking at it philosophically - it cuts both ways with clubs and players for the most part; the players are ruthlessly dispatched when they're of no more use so they use their bargaining power while they still have it. Torres was lied to and let down. Now the club is being squeezed at a critical time by him and his advisors, it happens all the time - we just benefitted from Ajax getting the same treatment. It's all just the high stakes football business mixed with personal goals and ambitions - as usual the fans get it in the neck (or heart) by investing so much financially and emotionally. I think we'll be ok. At least everyones cards are on the table. We'll sign Adam and Warnock, and when Torres goes we'll have money in the bank to rebuild this team properly with people who want to be here.

I may be naive but I really dont see Torres moving to another premiership club if/when he goes. It's just the kind of man he is, he's always displayed loyalty to his club. If he was going to jump ship (and few would blame him given our circumstances) it would be back to Spain, or to Italy. There's no point in having a meltdown over bulls*** press whispers.

The whole thing strikes me as a PR excercise for Abramovich, keep the fans off his back til summer when he'll really have to spend.

I reckon Cole is in direct competition with Maxi for a place, and Maxi's done nothing wrong since Kenny came in. I'm sure we'll be seeing him in the coming weeks in the interest of squad rotation. I still have hope for him, he's actually got a lot to prove; needs to show he's not just a luxury player.

Really hope so. Be a really great window if we land him and Adam. My guess is 13mill plus Babel for Suarez, 6mill for Adam.

I agree with them - he's been improving, I hope it continues. Heighway 61 Revisited rightly points out his weaknesses imo; and the question is can we be proper title challengers with him as first choice? I dont mean to be harsh on Lucas, he was very good today, but you have to take in the context of this weird season.

That's classy. Sky: Is that the Torres of old? Kenny: What, you mean last week against Everton?

That's about the most accurate appraisal of Lucas I've seen on here. I really like him cos he's got a lot of heart and is an honest player, but we could and should definitely upgrade soon as the other more urgent positions are addressed.

Same for me

win-win situation. Really warmed to Babel lately, the daft t***, like to see him do well - just not at LFC

Ah, the fabled "ghost s***" - a good omen in my book. Not really looking forward to this game, figure it'll be a highly attritional dogfight between two severely inconsistant and confidence sapped teams. However I reckon the Tog will win it for us
