I agree with Rafa that we are too slow in the transfer market, our negotiations when it comes to signing players seem to drag for ages. It is also true that Rafa has to work with limited resources and he may have lost the opportunity to buy a couple of his first-choice targets; re simao and alves. Athough Rafa isnt entierly blameless in the tarnsfer market, morientes, nunez, josemi, pennant perhaps crouch.... i think that poor financial thrust of our board shares the most to blame

Agree with most of the posts on here. No one i think is stating we are a bad side. however many recognise the fact that we do not possess enough quality players in te side to win the Premiership As many already stated we need to add 3-4 quality players to the current squad.

We don t need Upson or any other Central Defender as long as Hyppia continues to prove he s still up to it. We need an Rb as cover for Finnan. My top choices would be Micah Richards and Glenn Johnson. Neil is good but not one for the long term-future. We have four central midfielders. Normally 4 can provide adequate cover throughot a season. Would welcome the mascherano move instead of zenden. Why isnt there a mention for SWP? Signing Youngsters like Mc Carthy and Bale are always welcome. As for signing David GOLDEN BALLS, would really throw up at the sight of him wearing our red shirt at anfield with victoria spice appluading him from the stands!

I agree with you that pennat/gonzalez/bellamy are good squad players and it is clear we need to include a couple of quality players in our side, but with our present squad i still expected a more serious challenge to the title race. I still think that pennant/gonzalez/bellamy have basically underperformed thus far and we all know they can do better. Apart from that Xabi/Gerrad/Carra have not reached last season's level yet still think we can play much better with the present squad. pity we are already out of the title race or so it seems...

Really happy with Rafa. But the purchases of Pennant, Bellamy Gonzalez havent lived to expactations as yet, thus SO FAR the defeciances we had last season can still be reflected in this season s team, and in the league table. Jury still out but perhaps rafa learnt the lesson that sometimes it is better to spend a few bob more in order to purchase your number 1 target.

Problem this season is that we have invested in pace and width, re. bellamy gonzalez, pennant, yet none so far has produced the goods. which means that we are tormented by the same problems we have had these last years. no width or pace.

At least at home i wouldnt touch these starting 11 if all fit: Reina finnan carra agger riise pennant gerrard alonso gonzalez bellamy kuyt. reckon this team at home is the best selection rafa has at his disposition. also these players need to play together to gel properly.

Mancs- for believing that they are the biggest, succesful club in England and thieir whiskey-nose manager for blatantly stating that he loves the way how he konocked us off the perch. Everton- come second c os althogh they are our local rivals, they are more of a minor threat, we are the better club by far. infact i pity their jubilance when they rarely manage to snatch 3 points from us. This is the crux of the problem. We lost vs Bolton because we did not create enough clear-cut chances. Ok the linesman fecked us over and we played better than bolton and certainly the scorline at the end of the match wasnt a just one BUT: IF we really are true and genuine title challengers we should at least grasp a draw from such a match when the tide strongly turns against you. IMO although we were better than them, we weren't dangerous enough, and this can somewhat be reflected on our team again this season. We take too many shots fron the 30 yard mark. Why?? That is an attribute of a team who can't penetrate the opposing defence. Thus albiet being superiour we do not know how to be dangerous. Who s at fault? It all boils down to one department on the pitch and that is WIDTH. Finally this season in our squad we included out-and-out wingers in the form of Pennant and Gonzalez. Although it is too early in the season to decide if they are worthy of an LFC shirt or not, one can certainly comment on their performances thus far: Pennant albeit showing flashes of real brilliance has been generally poor so far. we bought him to run at players, rip opposing full-backs apart and cross FROM BEHIND THE FUL-BACKS, a trait he has succeded in doing very little this season. Gonzalez doesnt seem to have yet adapted to the Premiership and has played very little what has beeen said of pennant applies to him. Thus we need these two to hit peak form soon, then perhaps we can start seeing the real LFC of the year 2006-2007. If they are already at peak form and ability-wise they can t improve their game, we r in for another season hoping for that third / fourth place in the Premiership.
